Hi arctic fox
I have copied this from the first post in this thread :
"British Gas is offering a Winter Rebate scheme to their customers who receive
benefits including Disability Living Allowance, Carers Allowance, Child Tax Credits, Working Tax Credits, Incapacity Benefit, Severe Disability Allowance, Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit, Income Support, Income Based JSA, Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance, War Disablement Allowance/Pension.Without the rain you wouldn't have the rainbows !
I came into this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left!0 -

I applied for this last winter and reapplied in the summer for this winter,I should receive the same credits on my next bill, giving a total of £60 for gas and £30 for electric.

You are right Miss money , i have just talked to a nice lady who told me it is not afficial yet but they are not giving out Rebates anymore, instead it is now being switched to something called "essential tarif",i checked through my last corospondence from BG and lo and behold it had a leaflett in it explaining it all it says:
Introducing our lowest standard rates and peace of mind-with the new Essential tarif
Dear Mrs G....
As a customer on the winter rebate scheme ,you will soon be reciving a rebate for this past winter.
I'm writing to you today to let you know that this scheme will soon be ending. However, at british Gas we recognise that some of our customers need a little extra help with their energy bills,so we will be introducing a new scheme that will better meet your needs.
Essentials Tariff always gives you our lowest standard Rates
The new Essesntials tariff guarantees you our lowest standard rate for your gas and electricity. We'll be giving youour lowest standard rate every day of the year not just in winter, so you'll benefit right away.
Essential Tariff comes into effect on the 12th of March 2007. As an eligible customer, you don't need to do anything. We've automaticly moved you on to the new Tariff, so you're already getting the new low rate.As a pre payment customer, your savings will come to you as a quarterly payment in the post or directly to your meter.
For up to date pricing tables and answers to questions you may have, please see the included leaflet included with this letter.
Both gas and electric prices have been reduced
Also, you may already have heared the we've just reduced our gas and electricity prices.which means that we're now offering our customers some of the lowest energy prices on the street.
On behalf of all of us,thank you for continuing to choose british gas.
Yours sincerely
Jill Harrison
I hope that helps you all

Each night a different dream of me I'd plant inside your head
And if I were an angel, I tell you what I'd do
I'd appear in a vision and I'd give my wings to you0 -

Whats the point in getting yourself a good job/working hard, when other people get it cheap just because of their circumstances.
Utter Madness.
No doubt I'll get shot down now from the "benefitors" this scheme.
Because it then gives tits like you something to moan about :rotfl:0
