Well start burying and burning your domestic waste in your garden instead of putting in your bin and see how long it is before the local council knock on your door.0 -
Following link to a leaflet may help anyone still unsure over bonfires.

OK bottom line is, if you have a bonfire you should consider the neighbours (unless they do not consider you!) but in most cases of burning garden waste etc, it is more "environmentaly friendly" to burn larger quanties of it. Dumping large quanties from a single garden at the tip increases the chances that a disease could contaminate the green waste recycling and thus condeming the whole pile to landfill or incineration.Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0

I didn't make a mistake. I guess its which bit you read and how you interpet it. I am just saying if they are so sure they are right then give it a go and see what happens. Personally I prefer to put all my waste in the bin and the green waste I have a corner of the garden where it all rots down. There isn't really any reason to burn any waste.0 -

And that was your mistake. You are supposed to read all of it, you can readpart of a law and obey the bits you like and ignore the others!Personally I prefer to put all my waste in the bin and the green waste I have a corner of the garden where it all rots down.
But you have already stated that it is an offence to do anything other give it to licensed waste carrierEnvironmental Protection Act 1990 makes it an offence to do anything with your waste other than give it to licensed waste carrier
By putting it in a corner of your garden and letting it rot you are committing an offence, according to you!0 -

Well as I keep saying the law isn't enforced to the letter because if it was everyone would be in court.0 -
