Just gotta vent. Stupid old man living behind us could quite clearly see me hang my washing out yet lights a bonfire at this time of day. Neighbour has hers out too and there's a kids party with bouncy castle a few doors along.
Inconsideration makes me so cross...

No need for bonfires at all, IMO. They should be banned."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Is there ever a good time to have a bonfire? My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Its not stupidity - its lack of manners and consideration ! My next door neighbour phoned me at 11am a week or so ago - on the first dry and sunny day we'd had for ages. I'd just put out a line full of washing as had several other neighbours. She said she thought it was only polite to warn me she was about to light a bonfire and that I had better shut all my windows and take my washing in! Well, I suppose I should be glad she bothered to tell me - but she was still very high handed about it and made it clear she was going to light up regardless.
I told her I thought she was being inconsiderate especially as several people were obviously taking advantage of the first dry day to do washing and she had a bit of a turn. However, she clearly thought better of it cos she phoned back and said she'd changed her mind.
There used to be some sort of byelaw about not lighting up until after 6pm (but I may be imagining that). I certainly don't think bonfires should be lit when its very window.ELITE 5:2

We have same problem with neighbour lighting chimenea.
Doesn't even have to be cold, just thinks that because he's out in his garden he'll light it. Then quite often he goes out, leaving it burning.0 -
because, apparently, they can

my friend is vegetarian and every time that we have nice weather, her neighbours light up their barbequeues and make the whole area STINK of burning meat. It's worse than have a burger van outside your door.....I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.0

Our neighbour 2 doors away started a bonfire middle of the day when i had loads of washing out ,and it was all garden waste i presume as it was smoking like hell and blowing right into the washing :mad:0

Stupid people don't light bonfire during the day. Stupid people light bonfires when it's p***ing it down...
Inconsiderate people light fires during the day. But then again, there isn't a law against it (unless they are burning something which isn't allowed) and at the end of the day, is there actually a good time for lighting one?
I'm off to start a new thread: "Why do stupid people ride their horses on the road in the day?"If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Because horses don't have headlights:rotfl:
Sorry, I don't mean any offence to the OP, but every time I read this thread I get a vision of an old man writing this on another forum.
"Stupid Women
I just spent half the morning building a bonfire, in full view of my neighbour. Then, just as I was about to light it she goes and hangs her washing out. Even idiots know that you don't hang your washing out when your neighbour is lighting a bonfire!"
