geordie joe you are banging your head against a brick wall here (dont break it though or you will have get a licenced waste carrier in to clear the rubble!) I think this is a case of someone desperately trying to justify a position that, if they were being honest, they know to be completely incorrect.geordie_joe wrote: »No, the law isn't enforced because it clearly says you are excluded from it if you keep, treat or dispose of your waste on your own property.
Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -
I was reading this yesterday morning after hanging out my washing and low and behold some wally down the street decided to light a bonfire at 2 in the afternoon while 90% of my neighbours had their washing out too.
I had a few thoughts on the subject and I was rather tempted by someones "hose" idea lol however i went down and asked the fella to kindly put it out till later as I was going to have to wash everything again.... needless to say I got a mouthful of abuse and ended up re-washing my washing!
( He was burning a fridge!! Is that even legal???)

I could never be regarded as a yuor atypical environmentalist but even I am appauled at that! Even if he had the gasses profesionally removed from the fridge (expenseive so very unlikely) the rest of the materials in a fridge would be dangerous to burn.

That type of abuse is illegal and really should be reported! Totally unacceptable!Always get a Qualified opinion - My qualifications are that I am OLD and GRUMPY:p:p0 -

Sell it for scrap. Thieves are stealing anything metal due to the high value of scrap so burning a bit of plastic off a fridge is nothing new.0
