Sell it for scrap. Thieves are stealing anything metal due to the high value of scrap so burning a bit of plastic off a fridge is nothing new.

I get that but burnt metal would not be worth much as it would be flaking and thin in places and would probably be rendered useless even by the dimmest of scrap merchants.

Not one person here has ever said that anyone could burn hazardous or toxic waste! You really are getting desperate now. Just admit that you misread something and were mistaken, we have all done it so come on repent and let it go my son!:D

    To quote poster above:

No it doesn't, it says that IF you give it to someone else to dispose of, they must have a license. And, as I posted earlier, it also allows you to keep, treat or dispose of it on your own land.

Thats true but if you stick it under some decent scrap most of them won't notice the difference when its weighed in.

I've lived im my house for years and never had one bonfire.

Why do people need to have bonfires (except may be on the 5th Nov)?

Everything a house doesn't want can be either composted, recycled, put in the garbage, collected by the council or take to the local dump.

Well they certainly get the neighbours chatting to each other - even if they are using insults!

Fridges are classed as hazardous waste and the 2001 act has diefined legal standards for there disposal.

geordie joe you are banging your head against a brick wall here (dont break it though or you will have get a licenced waste carrier in to clear the rubble!) I think this is a case of someone desperately trying to justify a position that, if they were being honest, they know to be completely incorrect.

You're right, hedug him self into a lttle hole by being wrong. But instead of admitting it he just keeps on digging.
