the good news is that there is no limit to the amount of entrants so you can leave it a good while before you enter if you like.......

Thanks to everyone that replied. It's my grandparents that would disapprove really. They're quite old-fashioned, the type that Martin jokes about sometimes, that also think you should never borrow for anything. Then again, they're not as bad as I used to think they were. They actually do have a c/c, genuinely for emergencies and Section 75 protection, and they think a mortgage is an investment, not a debt. In fact, I think I might be a little more money savvy than them, as they put a lot of money into stocks and shares then complained when they stopped getting dividends. I don't blame them for my debt situation though, that was me trying to copy my parents. They owned a guest house when I was little and did slow stoozing (before it had a name) since they earned a lot and could get good interest from keeping it in the bank. I tried to do it and lost control.

Anyway, I've gone a bit off track there. I'll definitely try to get to the doctor's tomorrow. I've got to go into town to cash a cheque but after that, I'll take a wander to the local doctor's, get registered and make an appointment to ask some questions about ways forward. In 10 days, I can pay off my Halifax card and be sub-1k, which I think will do a lot to help matters. But I need to get some focus back and if pills are the way to go, then I'm willing to try them.
