The mile between 10 and 11 is tough but other than that its a great course - too congested for me, but was fun to run and not 'race' so I could really enjoy the great crowd (they gave out ice pops = cool) :D

Not enough room to 'race' properly anyway so i think it was a good decision to take it slower than usual :D

I didn't get chance to watch any of it. :( Ah well, maybe next year I'll be there. I can have an almost guaranteed charity place for next year if I don't get in, but I'm a bit rubbish at raising money, so I'd rather have a ballot place.

What makes it tough Becky? The incline?

I think it's important to run 'just because' sometimes. :)

Yeah its a full mile uphill and at that part of the race when you want to speed up thats tough - also lots of people were walking then so lots of weaving round them!

Do you have to raise a cartain amount then? I am sure some dfw's wont mind sponsering (sp?) you Snaggs :j Well I would :D

Oh really? So a lot of people do walk bits of it?

That's good! (Well, not if you're a decent runner and have to weave round them I guess)

I can run about 8 miles non-stop now, in about 1 hour 30, so I think I should be able to run it all by then hopefully. Getting to 10 miles is on my 12 week plan anyway, so I'd better stop 'forgetting' to train... :rotfl:

Aww thanks hun - yes you usually have to raise quite a lot for a charity place - can be anything from a few hundred to a few thousand.

I can get a place on my works' charity team, and they will pay the entry fee, but I wont know how much they would ask me to raise till nearer the time. So I'd rather pay my own entry fee for a ballot place if possible, but will keep the charity place in mind in case I don't get in.
