  • Omg, I am sat here draw dropped, thats just awful... or am I becoming an old fart  They obviously missed out the 'respect' lesson in school

It's a bit crass but teenage lads have sometimes had things for women older than them for a long time. Think 'The Graduate'.

Edit - I meant I don't think it's offensive to think it. Saying it to the woman's a bit of a different matter.

Thank you :grouphug: Bunny gave me the hard word (in the nicest possible way) this morning, and I seem to have pulled myself together a bit since then.

I don't have to but my grandma's a tiny bit psychic, in the way grandparents often are. She knows that something's bothering me and ends up making herself ill worrying about what it might be. How I've managed to keep my debts secret from her for this long, I'll never know.

Aaargh, laptop's dying, it switched itself off and then took 10 goes to boot up again. I knew this'd happen when I signed up for a course that's all computer based. Looks like more debt to the bank of dad if I can get hold of him. Last time I had a laptop problem I was quoted £140 to look at it, plus whatever it cost to fix, so I might as well get another. And this time not use it all the time. So if I disappear for a while it's cos of not having internet access.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I'm not dismissing the psychic thing, I wouldn't be so rude or arrogant, but I think a lot of 'psychic ability' is just the ability to pick up on tiny clues, vocal changes, facial expressions, body language etc, and decipher them...so in fact if you get the help you need, and start to feel better, it's possible she will pick up on that and worry less about you?

If not, could you say to her 'I know you don't approve, so I'm really touched that you are supporting me anyway'? That way you are paying her a compliment and making it very difficult to then say she doesn't think you should take them.
