I've got itchy feet. Well not literally but i feel like i want to do something but for some reason i can't bring myself to! I keep turning the lappy back on and wasting my day away even though i've got loads to do.
  • Hey,

Not been on for ages so haven't had chance to catch up yet.

Just wanted to say how impressed i am with the HiP grant - sent the form off on the 10th Sept and the money has gone into my bank today - just 12 days!!

Works out nicely cos its my day off work today so i can have a little shopping trip while OH at work!

Lol that made me laugh, people always said that to me and before i realized i was pregnant i just thought i was getting the middle age spread lol I wonder if i will go back into my old clothes after this baby. i hope so would rather spend the money on baby than new clothes for me.

  • Talking of pre-preg clothes, I was a bit upset at ante-natal last night when the MW kept going on about how hard it is to get back to pre-preg size, she still hasn't after over a year, breastfeeding doesn't help that much etc, etc. I know it won't be overnight, but as I've only put on two stone I'm hoping that it'll only be a few months....probably only pregnancy hormones but I didn't find it that helpful (especially as I'm being a bridesmaid next summer so need to shrink back by then)!

GISI, they probably didn't want to give unrealistic expectations, especially in this backlash against celebrity moms. I know some of the ladies on the Parents Thread have been lucky enough to fit back into their pre-preg clothes fairly quickly :). Heck, I'm hoping to eventually go to lose MORE than pregnancy weight, as I had gained a substantial amount (2-3 stone) within a year before getting pregnant & I'd love to go back (or at least near to) what I consider my 'normal' weight.

    Beenie,

Sorry to be rubbish but I'm not sure on the logistics of my pramette yet! I'm a bit scared of it to be honest and it's sitting in the corner of the room giving me "come on if you think you're hard enough" type looks!

Right, just for you I'll brave it!.........Hang on a sec..........oops! Yes, I'm more scared of it than ever now as can't get it back up properly. It was in carrycot mode (not actually a carrycot but the flaps fold up to make one so baby can lay flat) I tried to collapse it and it didn't look like I was doing it right as its not clicking into postition (IYSWIM) it still looks pretty big and deffo not able to fit in the boot of a micra! Ahh I'm doomed that means I have to buy a car! It looks very nice though!

I'll get OH to have a go when he comes in from work (I know, I'm rubbish) as at the moment I seem to have a complete inability to understand instruction manuals. It has to fit in the car or am in big trouble, would have been sensible to have researched this first wouldn't it?:o I did read that it was compact and umbrella fold so was able to fit in smaller boots though so I still hold out hope!

Glad there are other people talking about tummy going rock hard. Mine does this in the evening but not momentarily in the way people describe braxton hicks. It lasts the entire evening and feels like I've got trapped wind or I need a really big wee! I keep vowing to make a docs appointment but then it seems so much better in the morning. I think I keep comparing everything to when I had DD which was nothing like this.

Well I may be rejoining this thread ladies.
I don't know if any remember but I sadly had a miscarrage after a bad scan at easter this year and left the thread.
I then had some health issues and was diagnosed with anemia (possibly from blood loss). My periods have been all over the place some heavy some light, some short and one very long (over a month :().

Not sure when I would be due on, but haven't had anything for around 5 weeks (and that was just some light spotting) and have felt sick every morning for the past 2-3 weeks.
Just getting up the courage to get a test done. Part of me wants to be pregnant, but part of me is worried and scared. Already have 3 lovely children and part of me thinks we are tempting fate by trying for another.

Honestly some people are idiots, i think i would have said something if i was their as if we don't have enough on our minds. Everyone is different when it comes to losing the pregnancy weight. After DD i was in pre preg clothes after a week with DS it was a month for most maybe 2 for the slim stuff, on the other hand i know people who have still not shifted the weight after years. Although these same people are the ones that drive everywhere and do very little activity that would help shift the weight, they are always on diets but you see them sitting in the car at home time eating crisps so i guess they just haven't tried to lose the weight.

Welcome ALI sending major sticky vibes to you, hope you get the result you want.

GISI - don't worry, I lost 3.5 stone with weightwatchers after I had DD and I was older than you. (Aless, I lost more than I gained during pg too) I think you are much more motivated after having a baby as you want to get back to your old self. I remember looking at my DD age 3 and thinking I'd lost more weight than the whole of her. I got the pram out and put my earphones on and I walked which helped a lot. I couldn't BF for more than a month anyway so deffo wasn't down to that. I did it healthily and steadily. Don't despair!! I plan to do it again after this one (hopefully don't need to lose as much as last time though) as I haven't felt like myself for so long I'm actually looking forward to getting that feeling back.
