Ahhh Fishcake try calling your local pct they should have a list of dentist in your area, also they should put you in touch with a dentist who should be able to see u today, it might me worth trying hot salt rinse this may help a bit. Hope you feel better soon, I am working with the nurse that does my head in today and trying to keep my cool with her , but everything i ask her to do she fights against and it's her job stuff.Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0 -
FR - if it's really serious pain, there might be a walk-in dental clinic in your area. DH did this b/c it was faster than finding a dentist and waiting for a referral. He was seen that day and had extraction scheduled for the very next
. Try phoning a local dentist to see if they know of one.

Hi all, Hope all is well with you and your bumps. Unfortunately I am training my maternity cover at the moment so don't really get the opportunity to catch up on here. But don't worry after I finish next Friday (2 Oct) I shall be boring you all whilst I wait for bump junior to arrive
Congrats to all who have had their babies since I was last on.
I just checked the EDD and noticed I am now 19th on the list - how scary is that! I'm sure the last time I checked I was about 60th!!
Take care all. Karen xxxTegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Weight - what a nightmare. At booking in, I was 18lbs over a BMI of 25 so "overweight" by medical charts but by everything I've looked at since, I must be losing weight as the easiest to use calculator I found
http://www.gurgle.co.uk/tools/pregnancy_weight_gain_calendar/default.aspx
and my scales tell me I am now only about 8-10lbs over what I should be at week 30 for a BMI of 25. Very wierd, I really only have put on a stone so far, I've weighed a lot more when not pregnant. Scans show that while little one is towards the small end of charts, he's gaining weight at an OK rate so I am not overly worried.
Thanks for this link Always - it's just what I have been looking for. I've been looking everywhere for something that could advise me on weight gain at different points in pregnancy.
I found I put a huge amount of weight on in my first pregnancy as I had problems with an undiagnosed digestive disorder that everyone assumed was morning sickness. Whenever I ate 'properly' I was ill, and so I got in the really bad habit of snaking unhealthily as, for some reason I still don't understand, I could keep quite a bit of 'junk' like ice-cream etc down and I felt so rubbish that I didn't really worry about what I was weighing. I was about 10 and a half stone when I got pregnant, and immediately following the birth I was 16 stone!!!!
All my own fault, of course. After a lot of hard work, I eventually hit 10 and a half stone again by following a really quite rigid calorie-controlled diet. Literally a week after hitting my target, I found out I was pregnant!
This time I'm determined to not put on as much weight, but I'm struggling a bit as when I spoke to the doctor, he told me that in order to have a healthy pregnancy I would have to consume quite a few more calories than I had been. I've upped the calories, but although according to my reading, I should still only be having enough calories to maintain my weight (which doctor seemed to feel would be fine), my body's retalliated by putting on half a stone and I'm only 11 weeks pregnant!
Anyway, I think I'm going to just keep an eye on the sorts of food I'm eating now, rather than the calories as, to be honest, I'm not finding that overly helpful. Hopefully, if I try to ensure I'm eating a balanced diet this time I'll at least be a bit healthier.Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Hi girls, quick post before I make a start on the ironing.
Happy due date to Harley and Squishy!!!
Feel very strange again today, like LO is trying to push his way out of my bum!! Had a dream last night that I had him at 37 weeks...hope it comes true..would mean I'd get to meet him in 2 weeks time!!!! :jOh pllllllllease come true!!!!love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
On the weight issue..think Ive gained around 2 and half stone. Had I not gone on a 2 week holiday to Florida at 18 weeks I think it would have been 2 stone. I haven't weighed myself since 30 weeks so don't know exactly what I weigh now but at 30weeks I had put on 30lbs,which is just over 2 stone. I know it will come off again after with abit of hard work so I'm trying not to stress about it too much, afterall,I can't really avoid putting weight on and my body has proved how good it is at storing fat!!
Redstar..I think youve hit the nail on the head in what you said about your body retaliating..I think that if you were strict on how many cals you were consuming before getting pregnant then suddenly start eating more (because you need to when preg of course) then the body stores it quick (as fat) as it doesn't know when the fast will start up again. I think thats what happened with me..I used to exercise alot and wasn't really eating enough calories, but when I got pregnant, the tiredness and general crappiness of 1st trimester made me eat rubbish and stop exercising so the weight just piled straight on!love my little man he is amazing :j0 -

I've got a couple of things on my mind today and a couple of questions for you knowledgable ladies!
1. Nipples!
My nipples are in agony. Particularly in the evenings and when I take my bra off. They are also very prominent, which is so embarrassing as I teach several teenage boys (piano teacher) and I can feel them poking out (the nipples that is!) constantly. Is this normal, and does anybody have any solutions?
2. Bad skin
I've broken out in really bad spots in the past week. I've always had spots as I never really grew out of it after the teenage phase. Can anybody recommend anything for it? I have quite sensitive skin. As a teenager, Oxy and Clearasil would bring me out in a rash!
Hope you can give me some ideas! I've noticed a couple of you talking about listening to the babies heartbeat. When's the earliest it can be hear?
Muso x
My skin has always been bad but got loads worse when I got pregnant. I started using St Ives face scrub and a bit of neutrogena spot treatment on problem areas (not entirely sure if this is safe and didn't use it for the first few weeks but when the spots got really bad I went back to it) That seemed to work however after a while the spots have mostly cleared up and since the third trimester my skin has mostly been looking great - hope it stays like this! As your skin changes you need to change what you use.
Had 36week midwife appointment today, everything fine and baby head down so got to sign up for the natural birth suiteCouple of things that came up when going through my birth plan: I don't have a pregnancy TENS machine but the MW said I should pick up a leaflet in Boots which has a number you can call and ask them for advice on different models. They don't do antibiotic treatment on babies eye - maybe that's just a US thing - and 99% of all babies have the Vit K injection
