    Evening ladies,

Just got back from dinner out with my best friend, stuffed to the point of feeling sick so gonna sit here with my cup of tea & cats and work through a catch up :D

Jenny thanks for the info on the box from Sainsburys :) Think I will leave it, as I've enough newborn nappies to outlast this baby at mums already, may aswell just get a cheap travel change mat I think?

Weezl hope you're feeling a bit cheerier regards the job situation today :)

    Wildfrog congrats & welcome

Thanks for thoughts on gift ideas GISI - anyone know what age sleeping bags are reccomended til? We have a couple for 0-6 months, maybe I should request a couple in a bigger size? We only make lists because they do the same to us - every Christmas we're given a list of demands from them, pee's me off so badly that I've decided to play them at their own game :D

SJ I'll join you :) Is it the Mums, Bump & Tums thing? I'm sure I've got an a4 sheet about it in my paperwork somewhere! I'll PM you anyway, don't want to clog up the thread :D Oooh brill news about being able to stop working too, no need to stay motivated just go in & slack off in the knowledge you don't need to go back :rotfl:

Nikkit glad you decided on a pushchair :) The Quinnys are all so lovely too. I don't agree with your mum at all, pushchair or no pushchair in your house, nothing will work out any differently. OH's dad said the same to us - he'll buy and store at his house til baby is here, personally think it's crazy but it'll save us making room to store it & they're both non smokers so so be it!

Grr Kindof what an idiot, hate eBay people at times.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Gill, x

Hope all turns out ok Ali, xx

Ok, all caught up I think! Have had a nice day today, went over to my SIL to see the MIL who was babysitting the niece, 6 months and lovely :) That was nice, spent a couple of hours playing with the baby, makes it all feel real. Then went for a Primark spending spree :rotfl: Picked up lots of tights & a hat, tempted by lots of other bits but no point as I'm sure I'll be expanding soon despite lack of bump now! Then went for a curry with my friend and am seriously fit to burst. Sat waiting for OH to call at the moment, his phone's been switched off all day and I'm starting to worry a bit though quite sure he's just busy and I'm being overly paranoid.

Ooh lots of bargain maternity bits in the M&P sale if anyone is looking for any bits - just having a nose on there but not sure whether to buy as I seem ok without maternity clothes still at almost 20 weeks, wonder if I could get to the end without any?!

    xx

Grrr so i'm not getting any money off the ex for the pram.:mad::mad:

Nice of him to inform me he's been spending his money on days out with his friends and his 'chosen' kids Xmas presents though.

But alas, my baby isn't getting any money because i questioned why he needed to buy the pram on his credit card when he is earning so much money with NO outgoings and he gets paid weekly

Sounds like he's spending a fortune on his kids Xmas even though he wouldn't be spending loads if he was still with me, which gives all the wrong (or right, depending on how u wanna look at it) signals to his ex wife, doesn't it?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'm fuming. Got to rethink my budget big time and it now looks like i can't have my bedroom carpet anytime in the near future (and it's deperately needed!). :(

he sounds like a total waste of space BeenieCat. You must be so frustrated when you had the pram all picked out and ready to go. *hugs*

Evening all. hope everyone is well.

Glad you are getting better jha and don't worry the housework will still be their when you are up to it (unfortunately):rotfl:

Just had an argument over a pc game with OH, he kept asking what i had done with the sim's and i kept saying i haven't seen it etc, eventually it escalated to you must have moved it you were playing it erm no i hate the sims. To which he replied i bought it for you because you said you loved it. At that the penny dropped he wasn't after the sim's it was Lemmings:rotfl: off he went tail between his legs, don't mess with me sonny i can still out wit you with PG brain lol

Sis had emergency opp for a trachia tube today, but turned out to be for the best. Her stats have got better and she is barely needing the breathing machines so they said they may try reducing meds from tomorrow. So once again thank you for the magic vibes.

Returning vibes to those that need them.

    Morning,

Three so glad your sister came through the op ok yesterday, hope it's the start of things really improving :)

Beenie I'm so sorry about the ex, what an absolute a*se, at least you're well shot of him though :)

Well I'm cream crackered, had myself up til silly oclock worried sick about OH as I hadn't heard from him all day - I'm a worrier as it is but by 11pm I was in tears (pregnant & hormonal and a bit mad anyone?!), called his hotel to be told he wasn't there then really started to poop myself. Thank god he rang at about half 12 to say sorry his battery was almost gone so hadn't been able to call til he got back to the hotel. Bless him, he felt awful as it was obvious I'd been in tears, can't wait for him to just come home tonight now so I can stop worrying. Is it just me or does pregnancy make you seriously panic about everything?!

Kindof - definitely using sleeping bags :) Already got a couple & reckon they're the best thing for stopping me worrying every 5 minutes and having to check!

I made the mistake of asking OH today outside Morrisons whether I was the same size as this huge pregnant smoking chav and he actually stopped for a second to look at me:eek: Was absolutely gutted even though logically I really know I'm nowhere near as big but the fact that he even stopped to consider it really hurt my feelings - I know I shouldn't have asked though what a wally!

I had to laugh and read this bit out to DH, we have this all the time! I'm like 'you should just know!' but he always has to consider each question thoroughly! Causes me a few hormonal tears :o:D

I put down all I could think of, anyone wanna add? Hope it helps :)

    Sleeping bags

    pros

    • reduces SIDS risk through suffocation
    • keeps babies temperature constant even if they kick the blanket doesn't fall off, therefore less night waking
    • clearer labelling about tog rating and temperatures
    • some evidence that these are less likely to become a transitional object, and therefore having a 7 year old who needs blankie!
    • often hold their value for an ebay resale (esp the branded ones like grobag)

    cons

    • More expensive than blankets
    • possibly less like the real-life sleeping pattern you want them to adjust to for the rest of their life?
    • possible safety concerns with newborns

    ps hugs beenie.

If he would do this to get back at you because of your question about the credit card then I feel worried about what other situations he might behave punishingly towards you at baby's expense. Sounds very tricky. Poor you
