Oh no lost my post -grrr I had spent ages typing. will try and remember what I put now.
Helen - I am 37 +4 today but no labour vibes required yet as there is still stuff I want to sort out.
GISI - I have rapberry leaf capsules which work well for me as I hate tea. You can make the capsules into tea if you wish so you don't necessarily have to buy the tea bags?? Not sure what the price diff is as I got my capsules from my SIL.
Jolene- I think it was you asking about MS - I had mine until I was 16/17 weeks. You have to just do what makes you feel better. I am embarrassed to admit that the best thing for me was to sit down and read Mills & Boons - no real concentration required but I escaped for a bit. Ginger did nothing for me or biscuits before getting up. Hope yours goes away soon.
Nappies - I only have one pack of pampers as I am hoping to use reusables immediately. Disposables may be used during car journeys and days out for ease so I'll get some as and when.
Reusable wipes - I am planning to just put some damp ina tupperware container enough for 2 days at a time. I'll then wash with my nappies.
I have had a successful shopping trip today and managed to get 2 front buttoned nighties for £10 and 3 front poppered tops for breastfeeding £12 from Primark. Plus have got one nursing bra and ordered another (34J !!!!!)
Took some of my books to a place on the market and got £12 for them - not as much as I hadd paid for them obviously but more than I would have got if I had taken them to a charity shop and less hassle than trying to sell them online.Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)
Floyd Peter arrived 9th July 2011 (1 day early)0 -
Oh yeah also antenatal classes/parentcraft (!!!!!!) - with mine I had to phone up to leave a message to say when I wanted to attend. MW said after 34 weeks so went to mine end sept - only 2 weeks worth 6-7.45pm no breathing exercises or information about breast feedings was included tho.
I'm tired now might try to have a nap.Tegan Lily arrived 4 November 2009 (3 days late)

Jha, i'm so glad, it was about time you started feeling better! :j
Don't stress about the housework, but I agree it's probably just a normal reaction to feeling well again.0 -

I went to blackpool the other weekend to take ds to see the lights and i was so shocked to see 2 toddlers in pushchairs holding cigarettes and having a !!!!!! on them while they waited for their parents to go to the toliets near the car park it is disgusting, not only the fact the toddlers were smoking but to even be holding cigarette for their parents, what if they dropped it and burnt themsleves?
Well lunch won aquanatal next week i promise. We left the restaurant and picked up the kids straight the way, a friend dropped me off at the school and i had to walk home. Big mistake i was bursting for a wee so much, i was in so much pain anyone would have thought i was in labour. It was only prob a mile but felt like hundreds of miles. I got so desperate i nearly decided to just wee myself as i had a long coat on but i made it in the front door and ds ran to the toilet before me and there was no way i was going upstairs. This is my signature!0 -
Everyone's antenatal classes are different. Mine start on Friday but are purely drop-in (no booking required) and run in sets of 6 (1 a wk for 6 wks). They tell you when a new set starts but if you miss one or something you can always go to that class during the next set IYSWIM. Very casual and according to leaflet will cover very broad range of info inc. breastfeeding, aftercare, pain relief, etc.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
would like to win a holiday, please!!
:xmassmile Mummy to Finn - 12/09; Micah - 08/12! :j0 -
It all depends on the person taking the class but our lady was unless. She was very stern and strict and made us look and feel fools in front of each other if we got answers wrong. It was like being back in school. I got shot down twice by her. She asked us to name 10 things a midewife does. Alot of the anwsers were gone and she picked on me so i said to deliver babies well she tore strips off me becase they don't deliver babies
the mother does. Everyone was so annoyed with her as she hadn't any children herself and was judging us. We didn't bother with the last session and it was just as well as it wasn't needed with me having a section.
Oh and a heads up i also got told off for changing my ds on my hospital bed for hygiene reasons even though he was on a little mat but i couldn't reach into his crib/trolley because of the section and hubby wasn't there. This is my signature!0 -
JHA,
sorry you've been worried about pregnancy and labour..
Anything we can be reassuring about?
I was thinking about your thing with analgesia, and not knowing how you'll react to stuff.
Gas and Air is safe throughout the third trimester, so I wondered if it was worth asking if you could try it supervised prior to labour to work out if it has any effects. If it's ok, you'll know there's something there to help you, if not then you won't try it and discover it makes you all funny in labour...
Wondered if it was worth a try?
