Thanks weezl - i think it is just me getting well enough to start thinking about the pregnancy, labour getting the house sorted again iyswim. I am sure i will perk up tomorrow and get back into the swing of things:D and that i am just being impatient trying to go from bedrest to fully functional in 1 day:rolleyes::rotfl: I will ask about the gas and air thing but i can have a full discussion with the anesthethics team when i am 34 weeks. I have a secret plan to labour all the way to the last minute at home and then transfer to hospital as long as it is safe and i am not screaming down the street :rotfl:- shh dont tell my oh:cool:0

Gonna put my 2 cents in about some of the discussions i saw earlier -
Nappy bags - in my opinion a complete waste of money. Just get a small bin with a tight fitting lid, chuck dirty nappies in the bin and the smell will not escape (i do this with DS's nappies).
Swaddling blankets - again another waste of money in my opinion. For my DS's first 8 months i just used thin blankets/sheets of progressively larger sizes to swaddle my DS.
Wipes - i would reccomend buying as many packs as possible as i tend to use at least 1 packet a week . The Tesco own brand are very good but in my opinion you can't beat the Huggies wipes (plus they're good value if you buy the multipacks from Asda)
Anyhoo, i had a very boring day today. Went to NHS walk-in centre today re some tummy pains and tenderness 'down there' and after spending nearly 2 hours there :rolleyes2 i was prescribed some canesten and gavison. Also need to get a urine sample to my docs ASAP as the nurse said i may have a urinary tract infection (bloody typical that i normally pee every 5 minutes yet in the 2 hours i was at the walk-in centre i couldn't even produce a trickle :wall:).
Also had my midwife call to book my first appointment for tuesday (mostly filling in forms i think) so i'm feeling very :T:jMarried since 28/04/2007
Mummy to DS born 16/04/2008 and DD born 04/06/2010
:iloveyou: my precious family :smileyhea0 -
elastigirl thats how i changed my ds in the night the first night after my section, when I could only just about sit up. OH made sure everything I needed was close by before he was chucked out. They didnt tell me off for doing this but did tell me off for not asking for help in the night, they hadnt checked on me once. When I had dd I had an afternoon c-section and lost alot of blood and could barely keep my eyes open. I could not sit without help and there was no way i could pick dd up- she had to be handed to me (i could not twist) and did they come when you buzz, did they heck. Its very distressing to have to listen to your baby crying and not be able to do anything about it and the hospital kick out the one person who would be able to truely help you its madness and unnecessary imo.
anyway - i've got through today - had to eventually - it has gone so slowly. OH has been able to get the day off work to come with me.0 -
Ok, I take the labour vibes for Karen back and give them to Nanc instead as I forgot her off my original list, sorry Nanc:o:D
Went in town and saw just about everyone I know and got all the dreaded comments about why I'm still here!!?? And I've had a text too asking if I've had the baby yet. It's getting abit upsetting now actually, I feel like a failure cos I've not had my baby 2 weeks early!?! The most hurtful one today was up at school..a woman who I don't even talk to really stopped to talk to my friend who I was stood with and she looked at my stomach and made a face and said "your'e never still here!! You must be over due now??!!" I said erm no actually I've got 13 days to my due date" and she pulled a face again and walked off!!! How fcking rude  she's about 2 stone overweight by the look of her with a face like the back end of a bus but I would never insult her or want to hurt her feelings by saying so!! You'd think that women, women who have gone through pregnancy themselves already would know to keep their mouths shut. After my tearful day yesterday I was feeling abit better today but now I'm wobbly again. I just wanna hide myself away from everyone now.love my little man he is amazing :j0 -
<<<Hugs Helen>>> you will have your baby soon and will be back in shape in no time where as she will still be the same. We should have an MSE preggy club t shirt which says "please do not touch my bump and no i have not had the baby yet". I actually need one for when i go for walks in the park - "I am pregnant and cannot jump out of the way when you cycle at 15mph + please do not run me over with your bike"0

jha your t-shirt ideas are brilliant lol, glad you are feeling better.
helen hugs, take no notice x0 -
my mum has just called , and i told her about the buggy/pram we are going to buy tomorrow , now she has asked me please do not keep the pram in our house , its not just her being supersticous its lots of people who say it is very bad luck to keep in the house,
Now the question is ...
who else agrees with my mum ?
as i want to have it here so i acn play with it , i really dont want to keep at my mums as she smokes and it will smell of smokeDont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec0 -
I think it may be bad luck to buy things very early on but I think you should be fine.
We bought ds cot bed about a week after i found out i was pregnant because we were in toys r us with dd and it was a fantastic offer. Now that was tempting fate, but it turned out fine.
it is also a good idea to get used to it first before the baby arrives0 -

I've heard that too, but I'd risk a bit of superstition over a real danger of it getting drenched in smoke which we know is a SIDS risk!
We've had our pram in our garage since about 16 weeks!:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0
