  • Well i need to join in the rants Stupid car is on the blink, Not the car itself just the stupid keys. We can't open the doors to reprogram them so need to wait for the cover of darkness to break in to our own car to fix them:rolleyes:

On that note my mum is great and has lent me her car till later. Had the dog at the vets poor thing has 4 tablets to take, 1 antibiotic 1 steriod 1 anthistimine and evening primrose to see if it helps too. poor thing just as well he will eat anything i tell him is ok.

Any recipes for Pollock OH has caught one and the only time I've cooked it is in pastry with sauce from a pack,i don't like fish i only cook it for them. Any ideas or is it ok just fried.

    Hi All

I'm sending labor vibes to all those who need them right now.

    A plea for views please!

I've been on here before but never worked out how to get on the list!

Baby due on 28 Oct and I'm currently measuring rather large on the scale. I'm only 5'1" and was 7.5 stone before getting pregnant (so quite small). Other half is a massive, big boned 6'2" fella with big shoulders and frame. So given I'm now measuring in for a 9lb baby, what would you do? I'm so scared that I won't be able to give birth safely and the midwives don't seem to take my concerns seriously. Anyone got any past experience of this kind of thing (it is my first so I'm petrified!).

    Ek!

    Any thoughts appreciated.
    Thanks
    Lisa

    hi lisa, congrats btw,
i am 5" tall and was about 7 half stone before falling pregnant my 2nd baby was 8lb 8 and was a easy birth, considering, no stitiches, no tears , the only thing the little mite did was scratch me when he was coming out which was a bit sore when going to toilet, all i did was when i needed a wee i held the shower there at same time and it diluted it , please don't be scared , just listen to the midwives , breathe when they say , push when they say , and everything happens naturally . HTH. my other 2 were 6lb 12 and 5lb, i do worry with this pregnancy as my partner now is 6"2 and hes mum told me that he was a 9lb 5 baby , but to be honest i think your body reacts to the size of which is coming out IYSWIM

on other subject after posting earlier about needing loo, omg i went and my belly feels so much better for it , even though it was only a little, it was something
Dont forget that little Thanks button , only takes a sec

Thanks for taking the time to write that, exactly the kind of story I need to hear right now with only 5 weeks to go (although I'm kinda hoping for an earlier, yet safe, arrival). Moving house next weekend and then finish work the week after....so anytime after that would be ACE!

    I second this :D

I am a similar size and was huge when carrying ds1 (second pregnancy) I got myself into a panic that he was going to be huge (and the mw thought so too!) as it turned out he weighed exactly the same as dd1 @ 7lb 31/2oz :rotfl: I just carried them in completely different ways.

Is there another midwife that you can speak to? or can you call up and explain that you would like some reassurance?

Easy to say I know but - try not to worry. I am sure that if they felt like it was going to present a problem they would be talking to you about it - they maybe don't see it as a problem and don't realise how worrying you are finding it?

    Hugs and best wishes x

Good idea, I'll be meeting a new midwife next week as we are moving to a new area, so that'll be good to get that second opinion and of course someone different doing the measuring, they might measure bump smaller/or bigger. I'm chilling out as a read - thanks ALL. x. PS - is it normal for your bump to be solid/hard ALL the time now? Feels like a permanant Braxton Hicks to me (from what I have read)....

In my Ina May book it says that the only people who can't have a natural birth due to the size of their baby are people with rickets so you don't need to worry about baby being too big. It's amazing what the body can do - just think about how much mens bits expand!

My bump is hard where baby is and squishy elsewhere but I haven't had any braxton hicks yet (that I know of!).
