  • Hiya ladies, hope your all well.

Something else to add the the hospital bag list is, unless you're taking a drink in a sports bottle, a straw. You don't want to be mid slurp when you get a contraction and pour it all over yourself!!

I've got a poorly DD at the mo, she wouldn't eat her dinner last night and this morning she was up at 6am with an exploding bum. DH got up with her and when I came down at half 8 he was sat there in my dressing gown and his pj's and DD only had a t shirt and her nappy on  It's bloody freezing here so you'd think if he was cold he's have realised she was too. Men lol.

  • Hey all,
I'm having a joyous day trying to work out if its worth me staying on a work till i can go on maternity leave or going the benifits route. Long story short my boss has made it obvious that i'm going to suffer if I come back. I'm trying to work out whats best financially to do and then health/stress wise.
At the moment i'm stuck on maternity pay, how much is it a week?? If i return to work my wages will be roughly £80 before tax. So I`d recieve 90% of that right?

  • Fishcake, to qualify for SMP you need to earn £95 a week.

I think you will need to claim MA which I think you do through the Jobcentre (I really need to look into this because I'm self employed)

  • Been ages since i last posted on here.

Had a weird day yesterday as i kept feeling a tapping sensation from the inside of my stomach - almost like kicking but that can't be possible as i'm only 7+1 weeks pregnant. Anyone have any idea what this sensation could be? It is around my belly button area so i'm thinking thats too high to be trapped gas . Haven't had the sensation as of yet today so i'm thouroughly confused.

Also wanted to ask when do most ladies first see their midwife? I'm asking because i registered my pregnancy 2 weeks ago but as of yet have heard nothing from the midwife so am wondering how long i should leave it before i call the midwife and ask when my first appointment will be.

Hubby reckons i'm starting to look preganant now but as i'm a plus sized lady so i can't really see it myself (he reckons my face is getting bigger and my stomach too but i dont know whether to take that as a compliment or not) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

Just at work and dead busy after a week off but just a flying visit to say that I can walk from my work to the bank and back and pass 5 different Greggs stores!!!! (And obviously I called in for a sausage roll with all that temptation!)

Hope everyone is ok and I will catch up later xx

this is illegal, not to mention appalling and immoral:mad:. Do you have anything in writing about it? Are you a member of a union?

    hugs for you

  • I am back from my midwife apt all ok, i think they think i am quite boring really as no problems ever. I wasn't too fussed with it though as i had a student MW and i know they have got to learn but my mw left the room and let her get on with it, I think she still should have been there and from what i gather this student may take over from mine and be my MW from now on. I love my MW I she was with me thoughout my first pg and i don't want a new one. The student pulled my knickers right down so she could measure me which my MW doesn't do as it can be done over them. If i had known i would have had a little tidy up down there :rotfl:She also couldn't tell where the baby was at all and said oh well it doesn't really matter i can't feel it your only 30 weeks.
