The pool is large, deep and white hard standing, handles at one end to hang onto with the gas etc on the wall next to the pool, there is a step to get in as well, I was concerned about climbing to get in flashing my !!!! etc to everyone so depending on how I feel might wear bikini bottoms in and whip them off, so she says ha ha x

hammyhunter - welcome to the thread :D Oh and big congrats on being PG against the odds, just goes to show the docs dont always get it right!

EA - I plan on getting a couple of ready made single use cartons of formula just in case their needed. We live right on top of a tesco extra but you can bet it'll be the one time I need a feed will be the time its closed. But I really am hoping that BF works for me too. Have no idea what formula I want to use though, and don't want to use any old thing so plan on doing a lil research before hand.

The ready made stuff is very messy and stains so make sure you have a bib and a muslin ready. The bibs I used with the formula went all manky afterwards.

Jam - Charlotte is the spitting image of you! I posted some pics of Jack in his bouncy chair, did you see them? Don't lurk on the Parent Thread - join in!

You looked like you were having fun in the first few pics - I spent more time being sick into the kidney dish than having it on my head :rotfl:

Nanc - The hospital tour made it feel so real for me as well. Our hospital only had 1 pool but they always left this room free unless someone specifially asked for it.

MERFE - Jack had to have top ups as well because his blood sugars were low. Jack came early 37 weeks and my milk came in after about 3 days but due to my surgery still wasn;t enough so now he just has Formula. I was spending ages pumping for pathetic amounts!

Trust me - you don't care about flashing your bits once you're in labour! In fact I don't even remember whipping my kecks off!

Our pool was just like a deep bath - probably one and a half times the width of a normal bath.

Back from afternoon out...went to the cinema, so was gone longer than expected. But did totally non-MSE thing and bought Dream Genii pillow against all my frugal instincts. Thing is, I know I could've got one much cheaper on eBay, but I needed one tonight IYSWIM. Actually I blame DH as he loves to spoil me even when we don't the money to do so. Will report tomorrow if it's any good - better be for the price we paid!!

Hope Fitzio doesn't mind, but her Facebook has loads of congrats on baby Holly, so congrats to Fitzio!!! :T:T:j:beer: (still no news from ML!)

yes Fatty at Dorch great memory, its really nice unfortunately hubby couldnt make it (GOLF) so my sister came who is also going to be at the birth I feel she may deal with the situation better as hubby will hate to see me in pain and hates blood etc, bless and I need someone who can egg me on, ha ha. It was so quiet looking around saw some parents being shown how to bath their baby though. I just hope the pool is free, but I did get the fear whilst looking and left with tears in my eyes knowing that next time ill be there, I will be in pain and worried sick, I just dont know how I'll cope x Will you be the Dorchester or Weymouth side of the maternity unit?

Cool that ur sister went with you, thats nice that she will be at the birth too :) It was very quiet in there when we were shown round too, just a couple of chaps in the day room (was that was it was called?) bit and a couple leaving with their baby as we went in, aww. Fingers crossed for u that the pool is free. I also had it hit home with me too that this was where I would be actually giving birth in the not too far distant future, it made it all feel a lot more real!! I think from memory we will be on the Dorch side of the unit although I cant remember now if that was the left or right as we were shown round (we walked round the circle anticlockwise).

PS I checked and we are on the Dorch side, is that the same as u?

    xx
