am I right in assuming that if MWs haven't mentioned having a GTT so far (at 27 wks), then I've gotten off without having one? Is there any chance they would refer me for one later?
I'm sure i was told either at my booking in or at my 12 week scan i would be having one as my dad now has diabetes. So yes unless anything shows up in your samples then you have gotten away with it. Most are done at 28 wks. i have to ring later but i am sure it will be pos so i nipped into town after to do some shopping and there was a fresh donut stall calling me so i had to have some just incase they tell me i do have it then at least i have had my last super :rotfl:This is my signature!0 -
Hello ladies, I havent been on for a few days and have tonnes to catch up on!
Just seen from the EDD list that Nikki and ML have had their little ones. Congratulations to both of you and I'll go back hunting for piccies shortly.
Harley, Squishy, CSH mahoosive labour vibes for you all
Welcome and congrats to all the newbies, you'll find these ladies fab if you have any questions.
Cant remember who sorry but saw someone had to go to EPU today, glad to hear scan went well and you got to see the heartbeat. And it makes everything so much better when you have understanding staff at the hospital too rather than idiots that brush off your concerns.
EA - I first felt popping sensations from about 15 weeks. Not very often but definately wasnt wind. I was about 21/22 weeks before I started to feel kicks but I could see my stomach twitching before then. Also with the foot spa, Im sure I read somewhere you shouldnt use them in pregnancy as their are accupressure points on your feet that can trigger labour. Cant remember where I saw this now but I'll have a look and report back, bare with me!
I went and bought the final bits for my hospital bag this morning so OH's packing it tonight (so that he knows where things are when we're at the hospital as I wont be rooting through it looking for stuff!) and tomorrow night we've got our first 'Birth Workshop' 33 + 2 now and its flying by!Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0 -

Someone described the first little movements as similar to when you try to blow bubbles into a mcdonalds milkshake on another forum, I think that sums it up really well! That 'barely able to detect as the milkshakes too thick' popping sensation.Belly Monkey arrived 19.11.09 :j0

Kindof : I felt movement from ten weeks although when Nicki said the same there was a big arguement on the thread effectively saying you can't feel it that early (but she and i both did!)
OH could feel on the outside from 16 weeks and by 18weeks movement was visible through tum so everyone is different :-)
Thanksso it is possible, I am 17 weeks today and we were laying in bed last night and OH had his hand on my belly trying to feel babybean, and after about 5 mins I felt a movemenet and at the same time Oh went "OH" and we were both like did you feel that lol

EA - it could be baby moving, I like to think I know my body therefore know when its baby and not wind lol, especially as OH felt something at the same time?

gill_81uk - I think it depends on things like how big you are, how comfy seats are etc.. I find the cinema ok for an hour or so, but remember you might need the toilet more and will be tired etc, could take a small pillow, but everyone is different, how do you feel now, how far gone are you?Received £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j

We have a canteen full of vending machines, that you need change for, so if i dont have money on me, no vending machineshehe.
Also, i intend to sit through twilight 3 without going into labour, and if i do, i'll sit through my waters breaking (i'll move chairs hehe) and contractions if i have to. Cinema is £7.20 each here
The release date is on the twilight website i think

Weezl - what did you use for your perineum massage? Mothercare sell some stuff but not sure whats best.
mixture of almond oil with a little essential oil in there for luckEvansangel wrote: »I dont want to massage my perineum, im scared i will hurt it lol x
There's not much you can do with a pair of thumbs that's worse than a bony ball of approx 35cm circumference won't do m'lovely! Massage away!:rotfl:
Seriously though, it's meant to be quite firm and hurt a bit, just what feels tolerable each time, and gradually you get used to it and things do noticeably stretch.
Perineum tears don't so much worry me for the immediate aftermath, it's living the rest of my life with anal or urinary incontinence that's got me hooked on the idea
Can't remember who said it, but 35 weeks is not too late, even if it's the day before labour you'll have done something, right?

I'm only 8 weeks at the moment and feeling pretty much as normal apart from getting tired and sickly after work.
I work full time and am on my feet all day so I'm hoping that will help me cope as I get bigger. I think I may phone up to book the tickets so that can request an aisle seat to help me get to the toilet quickly!Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0
