  • Hi everyone, just caught up, Ive got the day off work today (well I only do afternoons at 'proper' work as do dog walking in the mornings for our own business).

Yay Gill, glad all went well at the scan!!

You have all got me thinking about perineum massage now, might have a try later and see how I find it. Deffo dont like the idea of tearing.

Our nursery lampshade from jojmamanbebe arrived this morning so gonna try and put it up in a min, got a feeling the stupid light fitting in that room isnt standard though and I bet it doesnt fit.

Washed some more baby stuff this morning which is currently drying on the line, still got a load up there to go though!!

    xx

Hope i have done ^^ right  I am still early days but want to be a part of it :D

With my first daughter I felt her move at exactly 16 weeks (but then not for a while after that. i felt her move as I was laid in bed, DH asleep and was totally relaxed and content - then I felt a stirring in my tummy twice - not like hunger pains or anything, FAB.

I have my appointment at Docs tonight to tell him I am pregnant. It's a family outing LOL the 3 of us are going - is that sad! :rotfl:

I remember with DD1 the midwife wasn't interested until after 8 weeks (which I find strange as it's nice to get to speak to someone when you feel so confused by things! - another good reason I am so pleased I found this forum this time :D)

Feeling good today, although I feel bloated and had apng's of sickness but that's gone off now.

It's taken me forever to read all the posts in this thread but wanted to catch up and see who everyone is etc.

Labour Vibes to those that need them, I hope your on your way as we speak - GOOD LUCK xx

Right, I have been reading since lunch time so best do some work now!

I didnt have a GTT with my first - i was not in the at risk group for any reason - no family history, not overweight etc but at about 27weeks i had glucose in my urine. Midwife took some blood to test, the result came back on christmas eve with a call to go to the hospital - which was kind of pointless as there was hardly anyone working there on christmas eve. They took more bloods and it was still very high - didnt bother with GTT said it was so high they didnt need to. Had to hang around all day whilst they found someone (anyone) that specialised in diabetes to go through it with me, quickly showed me how to inject insulin and test my blood sugar levels.

When i had ds i followed a very strict diet similar to that i followed after i found i had gestational diabetes the first time round. When i had the GTT it was only just over the cut off for not having gestational diabetes but since i had it before i was back on the insulin and measuring blood sugar levels 4 times a day.

I am not looking forward to doing that again, my thighs would bruise so easily with the injections. And its the only because of this complication that I will be getting my tubes tied this time. I'd love more children but there is a risk everytime i have it that it wont go at the end of the pregnancy. That and I dont fancy anymore c-sections, 3 is enough for me lol
  • Hi Mrs T, looks like you have done the list fine to me :) Love the fact that all 3 of u are going to see ur Doc, I think its sweet!!

Well I have been and tried the lampshade and it doesnt blooming fit!! Grrrrrr!! The problem is that the light fitting in the nursery is one that is only designed to take energy saving bulbs, they just kinda slot in, and the round bit it slots into is much wider than the metal bit on the lampshade. I did a bit of googling and found others with the same problem who basically suggest replacing the fitting with a standard fitting. I have asked DH to ask his bro about it when he comes on the xbox later as he is an electrician so hopefully will be an easy job he can help us with. Why is nothing simple!!

    xx

  • Thanks for all the tips ladies - back at GP today so hoping he will prescribe me some of the stronger medication I was given when I was on holiday as the weaker stuff doesn't work on it's own (although neither does the stronger- I seem to need both!)

I think my due date is 19th May if you could add me to the list please.

Hello! :) Cant belive its already going upto May 2010  I thought March 2010 was aaages away lol.

Good luck at the docs tonight :)

Its not sad, with my first pregnancy (mc) me and OH went to docs as we thought it would be this amazing family thing to do lol. Now he doesn't come in unless its something directly baby related.

Though he did miss out on hearing the heartbeat the other day cause he didn't want to come in as he thought it was a general test result appointment. His loss though :p

40 mins until i am freeee :D Really looking forward to seeing my nanny hehe :o

Mrs tradition - we all went to the docs too me and 2 little ones. OH was at work and there is only about an hour between 9:30-10:30 where i wouldnt be doing school runs or have kids with me and i couldnt get an appointment for weeks at that time so went at 12:30 instead with both little uns. They asked if the doctor would have a knife and cut the baby out. They were both born by c-section and have asked what my scar is so now they think that is how babies come out. Its nice the family is going with you. My doc said midwife normally like to book in between 8-10 weeks but because of previous miscarriage they may want to book in earlier but I've not heard anything from them yet and it was over a week ago i went to the doctors. I'm not really bothered about booking in - done that before but really want that first scan and I have to wait for that, I'm so impatient.

When did you all feel your babys move for the first time?

Me and SIL were talking about it and she said she was 18+3 and got a massive kick in the stomach while she was at work :)

I hope im not on a call when it happens, i'll prob make some weird noise down the phone lol. x

I first felt movement in the week I had my 20 week scan so I would have been 19+5, I guess.

Can I ask a quick question of those ladies on here who are 7 months +?

I'm supposed to be booking tickets to go and see Whistle Down The Wind next March with my Mum. We love it and have been waiting for it to come back to Manchester for aaaaages. Only thing is all being well I will be approx 7.5 months pregnant by then.

Could you have comfortable sat in a theatre for a few hours at that stage of your pregnancy? I have no idea what to expect :)

I went to see Harry Potter when I was about 6 months and I was uncomfortable but it was bearable. If you can go to a matinee, or go on a day when you haven't been at work all day I would definitely recommend that, as for my last few weeks at work I was good for nothing after 8+hours on my feet.

I've been a good wife/mum today. I've done my Tesco online shop, used a £10 off code and also got some of the Aldi cheap fruit and veggies. Planning to do a bit of batch cooking tomorrow. Off to a breathing and relaxation birth class tonight so it will be a quick tea before that tonight.
