    Morning all,

    Taija really is gorgeous!

Gill, hope you get on ok today, I've no experience to share I'm afraid but try not to worry too much xxx

Labour vibes for all those still hanging around :p Come on babies!!

We watched X Factor - really surprised by who did and didn't get through, was really disappointed for the guy who had autism who had his singing teacher on stage this wkend, I really liked him.

I'm so exhausted this morning, after no sleep Friday night with the cat missing then a 5.30 start yesterday with the car boot, I seriously need a lie in but darling OH woke me up when he left for work and now I can't sleep so listening to a bit of MJ and trying to motivate myself out of bed!

Almost frightened at how fast the weeks are flying now - spoke to a friend last night who I told at about 7 weeks and was saying how I'm now almost half way - how did that happen  Also, wondering what to buy now...we're hoping to move house next summer finances permitting so maybe put the house on the market in May, look to move by end of summer, when baby will only be 5/6 months - is it worth buying cot etc for this house, or just make do with moses basket? I so wish life was straightforward, we thought we'd stay here for a few more years at least but decided we'd like to move to a nicer area sooner so we can get a dump of a house whilst I'm either working from home still or on part time hours so I can organise work on a house...am I stupid for thinking this is possible with a tiny baby? :o So wish we'd moved this summer now!!!

Welcome Scotsgirl :D No tips from me I'm afraid as thankfully I escaped morning sickness, ones I've read are: sea sickness bands, ginger tea...not sure what else, sure lots of the lovely ladies here will give you some better tips!

apparently nobody taught my morning sickness how to tell the time cos it's all day sickness.
LOL with DS mine was all day too, for me dry digestives before getting out of bed helped and i nibbled on them all day. ginger biscuits were recommended to me but had no affect. I think the only cure is time, nothing works for everyone ......... Sorry.

Edit.... Welcome and Congratulations. Stupid memory

  • I'm back from my mini-holiday. Just waiting for our Sky to be installed!

I haven't caught up yet, although I probably will over the course of the day. Congratulations to ML and Nicki on your new arrivals! Saw you on the EDD list. Congratulations and welcome also to the many newbies who've arrived! Harley, csh and Squishy (hope I didn't miss anyone) I cannot believe you're all still here!

Had a lovely break, although it's nice to be home. We had three late nights in a row which has done me in, and lots of eating out. Looking forward to some healthier eating and lots of rest. I've warned OH not to expect much from me this week and I need to recover.

Spent Saturday on the beach with my 6 monoth old nephew and 3 year old niece and they are both just so gorgeous! I just couldn't stop cuddling the baby, although at 19lbs I'm hoping it's a while before mine is that big. Picked up the moses basket from my sister and also a couple more sleeping bags and a gorgeous Baby Gap pram suit that's never been worn as my nephew was too big for it when he was born!

What news have I missed here? x x

    Good morning ladies

Is there room in here for a newbie? I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my first following a miscarriage at the start of August. I'm also sick as a blooming parrot - apparently nobody taught my morning sickness how to tell the time cos it's all day sickness. I've lost half a stone since thursday. Does anyone have any experience of this and tips for coping? I already have another appt with the docs for later today.

Welcome and congrats!! I had Hyperemesis from wk6 to about 22 weeks, it was awful. I was signed off work for 2 months and lost about 1.5 st. I even ended up in hospital for rehydration.
Just take it easy, eat when you can, take plenty of fluids, you can try all the OWT's like ginger biscuits etc but TBH nothing worked for me.
I got tabs from the doc but only took them if I really needed them.
LOL that all sounds scary, its hard to enjoy being pregnant when you feel so bad but it'll all be worth it in the end!

PS Don't worry too much about losing weight, my doc assured me the baby will get everything it needs even if your weight is dropping x

    Hiya and welcome!

My brother's girlfriend is a GP and recommends gaviscon to her patients for morning sickness. I prefer the tablets as the liquid is very viscous and feels strange going down, and peppermint is the least nauseating flavour.

    Hope that helps :)

    Morning ladies
Have not been able to get on all weekend, I have been wondering whats happened to Harley and csh but i see you are both still here !!! Well big labour vibes to you both. Hope everyone had a good weekend, Had midwife on thursday, which went quite well she had two sudents in with her so they spent a bit longer with us, She was said that due to me having a double womb that bumper was growing in the right hand side and that side i was measuring 29 weeks but there seemed to be hardly anything on my left side, which worried me a bit but she reassured us and said that they will be keeping a close eye on me from 32 weeks, Also they may want students at the birh if i dont mind as my double womb thing is not that common. She was also really good at talking about breast feeding, well off to catch up, hope everyone is ok
Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j

Welcome scotsgirl! If you know your EDD, let us know and we can add you to the list :D. I was lucky enough to not have MS, but I guess the only thing for it is to sit tight and wait it out.

EA - I wake up tons in the night too, but I must be the only woman on this thread that can sleep through without peeing?? I wake up due to be stiff/uncomfortable more than anything else (or the damn cat going off).

Brisk this morning, felt lovely. Bit concerned that will need some sort of maternity cardi/jacket soon since October is going to be extremely tight month for us since we're having to unexpectedly buy a car...have decided that really don't give a toss about looking professional at work as at some point am just going to have to do what I can to stay warm at the sacrifice of fashion!

ETA: I don't know what it would be called in the UK, but in the US they have this stuff called Emergen-C which is a powder you make into a drink...it basically replinishes electrolytes and vitamins for people who can't eat properly/hold down food. If you're really getting dehydrated, might be worth asking the chemist for something like that so you can at least try and keep some nutrients down.

ETA2: (lol) Forgot to say that I was watching "Home Birth Diaries" on Discover H&H and this woman gave birth to a 12lb baby au naturel!!! (no tearing!!)
top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

would like to win a holiday, please!!

Gymfield: We bought this house in Nov '07 and it was a wreck! No double glazing or central heating, kitchen from the 60's, gardens a jungle! The old couple that lived here were here for 33yrs and I don't think they hoovered once. She had definately never heard of bleach! Everything was mingin and stinkin! We had done a total refurb right down to electrics and plumbing, we did most of it ourselves as OH very handy. We had the kitchen done professionaly but that was it.
It was hard and its unbelievable how much it takes over your life!! Not sure I'd be in a hurry to do it again, esp with a baby but the end result is worth it!
Now have a lovely house that is exactly the way we want it and suits our family.
    Good Luck!!
ETA: I hope you apologised to the dog over the back for thinking it had done the worst to your kitty cat!!!

Hmmm, not sure I would want the fact broadcasted! I'd lie and say millions of stitches, or everyone would think you had a bucket chuff!! (Sorry for being crude so early!)
