Has anyone had any experience of going to a and e for an emergency scan?
I experienced brown spotting at wk 5 and was told by both gp and midwife to go to a and e if i had any more, no matter how much. (midwife said even if i needed a microscope to see it!!)
Had a bit more today (Still brown), am 8 weeks now, so am planning on going to a and e first thing. (been onto hospital and they advised me to wait until then as they dont always have someone to operate scan out of hours.)Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

I did with DD2 LOTS never had a problem with having to wait for someone to be there to scan me though
The last scan i actually had was the day before i had her at 3 in the morning. it was actually one of the best scans i have ever had
I could see everything her eyes, her nose, her mouth, every finger and every toe, they even told me how much she was going to weigh and they were exactly right :eek:0 -

Woohoo ladies hope your all having lovely days
Weather here has been nice so decided to make the most of it and headed to the coast. Really nice so feel quite chilled now and I think the fur baby enjoyed it too, as he is now sprawled across the floor and out for the count hehe.
Put our washing machine on offer on freecycle this am and have come back to find 10 offers! Gotta choose who to give it to now eek!Baby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Yes gill I did at 11.5 wks but they didn't send me for a scan at A&E they didn't do that much actually only heart trace, bloods, feeling my stomach but they told me to go to the drop in EPU in the morning to get a scan. They can't even reassure you by listening to the heartbeat at that stage either so had a night of going out my mind before I got the scan showing everything was ok. Unfortunately there have been other girls on here who have had to wait a lot longer to find out. I think it really depends on your local health authority on how straight forward and helpful they are.
OOh another warning, if you go to A&E you tend to come into contact with lots of different health professionals some are sympathetic that you are going crazy with worry and others are cold and seem almost irritated by you! I had two doctors talking to me like I had imagined that I was pregnant at all and one tried to suggest I hadn't had a period because I was having an early menopause! I hope you don't get any of them!
Good luck and I know it's impossible not to worry but try to remember that it doesn't always mean something is wrong. There have been loads of girls on here with the same and things have been ok. Mine settled down after a few days and no reason was ever found for it. Hth x0 -
