SAHM needs to pay off debts

I hear ya on the getting out thing - I rarely ever go out in the evening - but then due to DH's work schedule neither does he. When we get an evening together when he doesn't have to work and nothing else is going on, we're more inclined to stay home and relax together with a movie and a glass of wine. DH would be perfectly happy to be home with the kids while I go into town during the day or something... stressed, but happy to do it. TBH, I just don't as I don't want to spend the money (petrol, parking, and whatever I might buy that I don't need! i totally understand. I am not really fussed about the going out. Must be too old for it or something. I too would happily watch tv and snuggle up under the blanket with a few nibbles, especially in this weather. OH would happily be out everynight if he knew i would not nag!
Tonight i am off with a few friends for a non alcoholic (i dont drink) drink and a pudding at the local hungry horse. None of us have a lot of money so it will literally be one drink and a pud. Not going till 8 as all 3 of us have OH that are not really very good at the bedtime routien so its just easier to do it ourselves and then go out.
perhaps next time i should bundle OH out for the night and get them round here for a pud - save a few pennies and sure OH would not mind being told to go outMe, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

Well last night i spent a total of £1.68 i think for a large lemonade. I had eaten too much before i went out and couldnt stomach the pudding that i had been looking forward to all day! Guess i saved a few pennies if nothing else!Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

well nothing really money saving gone on in the past few days. My husband and i have had a long talk about what we would like for the future and have decided to try for another baby after we return from america in march next year. I am sooo excited and would like to try now but i realise our holiday is probably a one off and we should make the most of it before getting pregnant.
We talked about the money side of things, and although things would be a little more expensive, looking at the benefit side we would actually be better off - not sure how that works. And just incase someone says it we are not getting pregnant to pay off our debts! My OH also agree that he would have the snip afterwards rather than me having to reley on the pill all of the time. This is a big change for him as he was always dead against it.
We would only have to get a steriliser and a pushchair as ours are either well past their best or been given away after thinking we were stopping at 2. We have everything else still in the loft from my other 2, and several friends are also pregnant at the moment and we already pass clothes between so that would cover the clothing side - probably end up with most of the clothes back that i have already donated to them! i really am excited and looking forward to march now.
So between now and then i need to definately work at paying off as much of the debt as possible to make life a little easier when the time comes.
 Hope everyone has a great dayMe, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

OH also mentioned the 'everything coming out of his bank' thing again so will perhaps give that a tryMe, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

slm - aw best of luck with ttc! We are DEFINITELY done having more! LOL It's nice that you still have lots of the baby stuff still - we did for this baby, and it really did make such a difference in the cost. Especially for clothing! It's nice that your OH is now willing to have something done for birth control so you don't have to. I wasn't horribly keen on taking pills (had side effects from them) or any invasive measures, so DH said he would have a vasectomy. I'm not sure he's really thrilled to do it :rotfl:but he wanted to avoid me having any more medical issues and from a health standpoint, getting pregnant again would cause me lots of medical problems.
Any items you need that you don't have, it's good to check on freecycle as well - almost always baby items being offered on our local freecycyle.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

thank triggles. I thought about freecycle as i have given some stuff away on there myself. Thought that i have plenty of time to keep an eye on things before i should need it.Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

well not much was done yesterday-time just flew by and ended up visiting OH grandparents most of the afternoon so housework went out of the window. determind to make sure things get done today. Its a lovely sunny day and already put 2 loads of washing out.
been day dreaming about how to make a few more pennies to work off debts before baby 3 is born. have got just over a year if things happen like previous 2 times. guess i will have to start the mystery shopping back up again.
I have got a lot of material in a big box. when i go through it for xmas things i will see what else i could make and sell.
 Any ideas greatly received!
right off to do washing up - OH has promised i can have dishwasher once baby 3 born-cant wait!Me, DD1 20, DS 18, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190
