thanks, you are right about priorities, and i hope he will come to realise this before its too late. He thinks something will come up because it always has,but the truth is that it was normally me but there is nothing to save us this time.
great news about the extra money :jMe, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190 -
well a while has passed and a little money has come in from a few jobs that i have done. Still waiting on one job worth £75 that still hasnt paid - it was due over 3 months ago and i have chased the lady but still no payment. Quite frustrating.
OH has finally changed bank accounts this month but hasnt managed to change over the DD's fully yet so that wil be a job for me this week.
I have been saving nearly all leftovers recently so freezer is overflowing. Didnt need to do more mash the other night as i had 3 portions in the freezer from several previous lots. It is very money saving and nice not to have to cook every night!Me, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190 -
I have also been invited out for a christmas do with some friends, but the tickets are £25 per person. I just dont think i have the money in my budget for it. I would then need to buy drinks on top. I just feel bad that i am being a bit of a party pooper. I did say that maybe i could meet up with them before for a drink and then let them go for the meal and disco. I just dont knowMe, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190

Hi Slm
I am a huge lurker but wanted to pop in to say well done with all your hard work. Hopefully OH will see the light soon. I was very lucky in that my partner handed over all his money and would barely have any back over the coming month for himself. He was working too hard and realised that we were a family unit and it all had to go into the pot for everything else to be paid for first. He learned this though from losing his first family through divorce because of his laddish ways. Hope your hubby can see how lucky he is, he's got you and his lovely babies.
Good luck and best wishes...

slm - regarding the christmas do, we have been in that position as well. To some extent, it's a bit of a downer that we can't just buy tickets like that, but at the same time, it's one of those things that I try to remind myself what I could do with that money. Figure £25 per person plus drinks (plus taxi after having drinks?) would be easily £100 for us, not including babysitter. £100 would be groceries for two weeks! When I put it in that perspective, it's much easier to pass up and not feel quite so bad about it. I think the idea of meeting up before for drinks is a good one, a little expense, but not quite so drastic of one.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Dee thanks for being a non lurker! yes we are getting somewhere but i do get quite frustrated that i cant do more. hopeing it doesn't take a divorce to sort things out!
Triggles- thanks for that. Yes as we spend £30 on groceries per week the ticket alone would almost be 1 weeks worth of food. My friends all have nice houses and come accross as being well off but i guess they may just be adding to their large debts!
My credit card company has just cut my spending limit by half. Although i was not planning on using it, it was there for backup should anything happen,as we have no savings. Now we have absolutly no choice but to make our money work.
OH still not spoken to his new bank about paying money into my account. Need it sorted by the 1st nov otherwise things will not get paid.
Anyway busy day ahead cleaning and then off to playgroup-its free, close enough to walk to and nice and warm -not turned heating on at home yet!Me, DD1 20, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/190 -

slm - oh thanks for the reminder, actually! I have to send christmas stuff to family in the states and I have only just realised after reading your entry that I'd better get a move on! I have to do tax return as well, but am planning on doing it online. I will do the paper one to see where it sits, but will eventually turn it in online most likely. Just another thing to do this week. *groan*MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
