Hang in their frankiegirl.
You are by no means a let down or a failure. Far from it! You sound like a wonderful person and mother. Your children are very fortunate to have such a caring and loving mother, and it sounds like they depend on you!
You're doing immensely well at playing the role of not just one parent, but two! You've proved this at your daughters birthday. Just keep up the good work and hang in there!
Just remember we're all here for you, whether you need a sympathetic ear, encouragement or just some constructive advice.Try to imagine nothing ever existed...0 -
Hi OP, hope you're feeling a little better today, please come back and chat, if it helps to get things off your chest.0

Frankiegirl... you are not alone. Honest. I have felt like you and just three weeks ago I was self-harning. Went though it, got over the bad patch and now something has shifted inside, I wake in the morning eager to go to the garden and hear the birds. I know that feeling about not having people you can talk to. But you have posted here so you know someone will listen. We care about you and we will be here.
Please, love yourslef and push though this bad patch. Whatever happended that made you feel like this will pass. It will be fine. Give yourslef small treats and keep posting here. We are with you.

Frankiegirl, I hope things look less bleak today - I am sorry you are feeling low, but please do not be under any illusions about how, if your lad lost you, it would damage him - and your girls too. Their lives would be irrevocably changed.
Kids are selfish, it is in their genes, and it is not unusual for mums and daughters to clash.. in fact it is par for the course. They do not understand the dynmics of their parents lives and relationships, and they really dont want to, it is difficult stuff to take on board - we all want our families to be rosy!
However, losing a parent when you are young is particularly hard - losing a parent to suicide is even more damaging, as it is the ultimate rejection in many ways - children tend to feel their parent cannot have loved them at all, to have abandoned them in such a way, and this damage tends to leave a mark which lasts for the rest of their lives.
You must seek help, for your children's sake... I know, looking back on my own life, I have, at times, been a real cow to my mum.. but it does not mean I do not love her, and would have been devastated to lose her... but if I had lost her because she had committed suicide it would have been absolutely unbearable, and would have left me with a lot of negative feelings about myself and my life.

do seek help - you owe it to yourself, and your children.0 -

The OP is far2812, and the website is about mothers who live apart from their children.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Go to your doctors and ask them for anti depressents instead. Stupid man.. i guess most men are useless anyway
see if you can get them from another doctors instead. You need to think of your son aswell, i lost my dad at 17 and i was heart renched. He died of cancer but i your son grows up knowing his mam commited suicide it will be so traumatic for him. There must be more options out there. Keep talking to us on here.. were always here to help

Frankie girl, when you sayno help is given by the doctors, have they refused to refer you to a crisis team, or other community mental health team, or to a consultant or is it that you are having a disagreement with them about what medication you want and what they believe is appropriate for you?
it would be good to get a clearer idea of what's going on so we can advise you better.
If you are having problems with the GP to do with medication or a referral, contact the PALS team at your local PCT https://www.nhs.uk who can talk to them for you and can explain to both sides of the equation what's going on."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0 -
