Ooh! I diced the beef slices (cut it all up yesterday) while I cooked rice. Heated up a pan with oil and osme beef fat, threw in a diced onion and the beef, and a courgette chopped up, added the beef juices and a little bouillon, then threw in the cooked rice and stirred it all up.

It was DELICIOUS! Really, really nice and so easy and cheap! I'd NEVER have thought of doing something with rice so I'm very grateful for the idea - I have some for lunch tomorrow in a tub AND more beef to use up tomorrow night!

Thanks! It really is one of the tastiest meals I've had for ages!

    Hi all

I have a medium sized end of roasted beef leftover from yesterday.

I would love to get some ideas for another meal I could make out of this.
All I can think of is slicing it into some gravy for another beef dinner, but my family always protest when they get two of the same meals in a row

I just wondered if there was something else I could try.
    Thanks all :T

    Hi Steph,

I usually make a steak pie with left over beef but there's an earlier thread with lots of ideas that should help so I'll have a look for it and add your post to it to keep all the suggestions together.

Stew it up, and make a casserole, or a meat and potato pie, or mince it for a shepherds pie?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I bought too big a joint yesterday.

If I do this we either have it cold with chips & salad on Monday or I make some gravy slice it up & put both in a pyrex dish & reheat & serve with mash & veg.

    I don't have a home mincer.

Is there any other dinners I can make with this?

    Thank you

  • I've got a small piece of beef in the freezer left over from Xmas, not sure what the cut was, possibly silverside (just said roasting joint). Anyway I want to use it up, possibly make a curry. The problem was it was a bit on the tough side. I was wondering about putting it in the slow cooker, would it go tougher or would it make it tender? Any ideas please.

Just to add the beef has been cooked.
