Well, as its now Friday and my interview isn't until Monday, I am going to try to not worry about it too much:rolleyes:. I have a nice day planned for today - I was given some vouchers to buy clothes (as I had 1 pair of jeans and a few scruffy tops) but have felt scared of spending them. Today, I will buy a pair of shoes!!!:j Woo hoo! When I think of all the clothes I had a few years ago, shoes to match every outfit and mood, I don't thinkI should be so stressed over having at least one pair (I only have sandals at the mo) and as its vouchers I can't use it for food anyway, sooooo I will try to not feel too guilty.:p

Once again, thanks for all your support, it is making a world of a difference, I don't feel so alone now.:T:A:T

    Hi Cecilia!
Now being a self confessed shoeaholic I would go find the classyist prettiest (bright pink) pair of shoes I could find & if the vouchers would stretch I would buy more or a handbag or fancy top to match! I bought a stupidly high pair of blue patent shoes in Peacocks last week for £11! (in the sale orginally £22 which is a good price anyway!) I wore them today for the 1st time to work - plain white top plain black trousers & felt a million dollars. Oh yes that reminds me .. on the list of what would you but with £3 chocolate wine or food... we need to add shoes to that list!:T lol

Good luck with your shopping & post a pic of what you bought!

Well, I did get shoes - not fancy high heels (tho I have had my pink stillettoes posted to me that I took when I went into the convent then forgot!!) but a nice sensible pair of brown mules - comfy and okay with both jeans or trousers. I also got a long grey jumper for just 4pounds (cant find the symbol!!!) so I have an almost presentable outfit 'just in case' I get an interview at some point.

Okay thanks (see previous post). Feeling quite anxious - Liverpool was busy!!! But I have coped. I figure that every day I 'cope' is a day nearer to being 'fine'!

Meeting some friends tomorrow, including 2 babies I haven't yet met, so that can only be good, can't it? I just won't let on at the jobcentre, seeings as I'm tagging along with my 'frandlord'.

Well done for coping - I can't say I like busy shopping centres much myself, and it must be much worse when you haven't had to do it for ages. :T

At least you can treat yourself to a nice day out with friends tomorrow as a reward - have a lovely day!
Back after a very long break!

Of course!!!! They sat in the 'green room' the whole time I was there. Just a few weeks before I had to leave I saw them in the box to go to charity and got them rescued - thank goodness I did!!! At the time I never imagined I might actually need them again, though...

Also still have some purple sequinned pumps that I wore to a friends wedding, complete with scuff marks where I got a tad tipsy and fell off a wall:o:eek:

:rotfl::rotfl: The mind boggles.....one thing is for sure....if somewhere along the line in the future you ever decide to write a book about your experiences - and tell us all on here - I think there would be a lot of us buying it thats for sure:D.

D'you know, the woman who went in is certainly not the woman who has come out. I thought I was so worldly-wise, that I knew it all and that it was cool to get drunk (not oblitterated, just regularly tipsy). I thought intention and desire would be enough to see me through, and I thought that I could run away from my past by being inside enclosure. None of this consciously, but I now see it. Now I feel more naiive and innocent than ever, yet also far, far older. I realise now that however far you run, you can't run away from yourself. That the past cannot just be left behind because its what has made you who you are - for good and bad. I realise that 'happiness' and immediate pleasures are totally different things.

But have the experiences have made you into a "better" person, in that your outlook on life & your focus in general has shifted?
