Good work, that's exactly what I was looking for ! Now, how's the budget going? Was thinking - if you had enough, you could try some sort of sponge cakey thing

SR flour (value), baking powder, eggs and butter (or marg). But depends how much of that you would need to buy and if it's sensible

What are your thoughts on what to buy on friday? Plan that tenner well Mlady!

Dont forget you can check prices on mysupermarket.co.uk

Well done! Why roll your eyes up at corrie turkey?

Jamies pie is delicious! Ok, if i were you , i would price pre made pastry, and priec the ingredients you need to make the pastry . I imagine making it is cheaper as you will have leftover ingredients

For jamies pie, strongly recommend adding more veg to bulk it out. it is very meat rich so you could !!! some peas and sweetcorn etc to make it less meat concentrated? The gravy from it is gorgeous.

    Good going there!

not rubbish at all! Yes it will work darling! Have confidence in yourself.

All you are doing is changing the meat from chicken to turkey. I would even go as far to say 99% of recipes you could substitiute one for the other! (I cant think of the 1% where you couldnt, but am keeping myself covered he he )

This all sounds very promising, Lou!

I'd say that making pastry is definitely cheaper than buying it ready-made - all you need is plain flour and butter/margarine, both of which can be used for other things as well. I find hm pastry tastes better than the stuff you buy, too.

BTW, do you (or Zippy, as you obviously know it too) know if the recipe for Jamie Oliver's turkey and leek pie is available online anywhere? I've got some turkey sitting in the freezer waiting for me to think what to do with it, and this recipe sounds pretty good.
    :)
Back after a very long break!

CCP - clicky! it is GORGEOUS! Mum says best thing i ever cooked (although i only make her conventional food....)

It is a bit of a faff in a sense, but worth it. The recipe is a massive portion too! Do let me know if you make it what you think etc.

Let us know how you get on with the pastry - must admit ive not attempted it yet myself!

Im subscribed to this thread and my email said Lou had also replied since my last but I cant see it! Wondering if im imagining things!
