Not much progress for me last week as I was away for a few days. Not doing too great at sticking to the fitness targets but I am being more active in general so it is at least heading in the right direction. Wouldn't say I'd done something constructive every day but definitely more aware of that too.
Plan this week is:
- go to the gym at least once
- run at least twice
- post off Innocent Smoothie hats
- do any surveys that come in
- keep an eye on Freebies and bargains for Christmas pressies
Nothing much happening on the debt payment front until payday at the end of next week.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
I seem to have lost count of which week we're on is it week 4?
This is my progress to date:
1. Pay £1200 off debt - paid off £400 so far and on target to have paid off £800 by the end of next week.
2. Lose 7lbs - not happy as lost 3/4lb last week only to put it back on this week somehow so back to square oneHowever, now have a Wii Fit so will be doing even more exercise than normal. I am going to count every WW point that passes my lips this week.
3. Buy all Christmas presents - still have 4 stocking fillers and a bit of something for OH to get. We bought a Wii and Wii Fit on Saturday which is supposed to be joint Christmas prezzie for me and OH but will still get him a bit of something (so he had better do the same for me!!).
4. Save/pay all holiday associated costs - accommodation and flights paid for but still have extra legroom, taxi fares, airport expenses and spending money to go. Should make inroads into this by end of next week.
Good luck everyone with hitting those targets!I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0 -
As I am feeling a lot better now (thank you for all good wishes) I will return to my attempts to be good and worklike. My list has evolved and will do so again as some tasks come to a natural end......
1. Sort out my finances and make the most of the fresh styart, get ready for the OR interview This is all done and dusted, so this one goes
2. Spend at least one/one half a day of quality time with my partner and not take our time for granted We are doing very well on this, got a weekend away booked and we haven't done that for ages, plus we went out for a meal with friends, and we spent a whole evening just talking about future plans. It's good.
3. Accept that all offspring have flown the nest and declutter and tidy the big bedroom and move into it Nope, still can't make myself do this one!
4. Exercise at least three times a week Why oh why did I ever think I would do this?
5. Complete my Christmas shopping Have all small items bought or made, now onto offspring
6. Unwrap and use the gift of a slow cooker I had ages ago and return to good old fashioned home cooking Done and how did I ever live without it?
7. Make more of an effort to keep in touch with friends and be social and realise that work has taken over a bit well, slowly slowly
Also we are now doing more for our various charities and I also aim to be a bit leaner on the shopping budget

I think we are up to week 5 aren't we? Nearly halfway there...eek!
Does seem to be a bit quieter round here but those that are posting seem to be doing well. It's quite inspiring reading what everyone else is doing.
My list:
Stick to my budget and pay off £700/month on my debts Going well, have joined PAD to try and see how I get on, a bit of extra motivation
Do some sort of exercise everyday Managed this last week :j don't think I will do so well this week because of the bathroom
Cook as many meals as possible therefore reducing my grocery spends Doing well on this too, starting to batch cook at weekends. I need a bigger freezer!
Go for a [STRIKE]monthly[/STRIKE] weekly horse riding lesson as a treat only if I save the money elsewhere to do it Loving this!
Try and find some voluntary work to get involved in my local area Have found an amnesty meeting on a wednesday I might go to, could be a good way of meeting some new people too.
spend less time on the internet and more time being productive am trying, managing to keep off it so much at work, apart from 1st thing and lunchtimes
Try and catch up with one friend a week got 1 friends birthday party on Saturday - need to try and find some money!
Get my flat bathroom sorted out ASAP and get the flat rented out top priority at the moment, probably about 50% of the way there with lots of help from OH and Dad. Going to paint the bathroom walls tonight.
Spend more time with my grandma (she's 94 and housebound and could do with the company) Went round for lunch one day this week, going to do the same next week.
Try and get a head start on Christmas shopping Too depressing a thought at the moment!:o
Start a DFW diary on here to keep myself on track Still keeping up with this - although I am starting to depress myself. Need to be more positive!
Good luck this week everyone xxLBM 17th August 2009 Debt at LBM £18,612 Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
week 3 for me
Stop being so negative - be more active/less apathetic.
Write more, and start/finish creative projects.
Nothing written but some photos taken
Get zine printed & another one finished.
One zine printed
Finish sorting through my cds - rip stray tracks and get rid of the ones I don't want any longer.(only need one more to have enough for musicmagpie)
More cds ripped and listed. Four cds and a dvd posted to musicmagpie
Sell/swap unwanted items online or give to charity shops.
Posted jewellery off and managed to sell two cds in a row on amazon
Cut down on chocolate.
Managed this a bit."And suddenly I find myself listening to a man I've never known before,Telling me about the sea..."0 -

2. Make packed lunch at least 3 times a week - 0/5
[STRIKE]3. Pay back the money I owe (approx £250 to my bf, approx £90 to the househould account) [/STRIKE] completed w/c 28/09
4. Finish decorating at least one room of the flat (I seem to have started every room but finished none of them) - was meant to do this on the weekend but ended up sleeping through most of it
5. Sort out and give/throw away all the stuff I don't use from my kitchen - erm...
6. Lose at least 1 stone or a dress size - put on another pound this week. must start counting ww points again.
7. Sort out xmas presents online in advance rather than rushing round the shops the weekend before xmas - nope
8. Save something towards a holiday next year (would like to have £500 by xmas) - can't really save til end of month
9. Put SOMETHING into my savings account for a house deposit. Saving has gone very badly these past few months - can't really save til end of month
So erm, yeah. Last week was awful. Must do better this week!0 -

Hi everyone, hope you are all well, haven't been on here for a while but quick update:
My list is:
1. Pay off chunk from credit card (currently £735 at 0% till next July, but if it gets cleared quicker, even better!) paid off - thanks to a completely unexpected bonus! it's a miracle and I am so grateful I could cry!
2. Buy and wrap all Christmas presents (look for bargains & make presents if possible) online xmas shopping as I type...
3. Plan weekend away with friends (but save up for it before booking anything!)
Due to indecisive friends I have decided for everyone! Barcelona for my birthday weekend end of January! V cheap flights, and will be staying with one of my more travelled friends who is currently living out there so no accommodation costs.
4. Clear out wardrobe and Ebay stuff I won't wear again (e.g. posh dresses from people's weddings). Or maybe Ebay most of it and swap something with a friend so I still have a "new" dress for special occasions - everyone seems to be getting married and having babies christened at the moment! still not done this, but WILL do, I promised myself it will be done by xmas, and I refuse to renege on this.
5. Cut food shopping down to the bare minimum done it, done it, done it! online shopping is my new friend!
6. DO NOT SPEND ON THINGS THAT I DO NOT NEED! (and use any money saved on clearing debts!) I have had a major LBM and thanks to this (and the v unexpected bonus) have survived on v little money. OK, I need new work clothes, but am not getting any until the Xmas list for everyone is out of the way. My former frivolous self is no more, and I refuse to fritter away my money on rubbish EVER AGAIN.
I love this thread because it is helping to make me a better person (bleurgh). OK end of mush. I feel like I'm bragging and that's so not me. I'm just very lucky. Again feel free to bleurgh! sorry!
Hope everyone else is ok xxxdon't let the b*stards get you down or you might have to live in a bin - <<< this could be you!0
