Had to put the heater on in the car this morning but only because I couldn't see out of the windows....honest :p !!

we have a heated windscreen so we don't need to put the heating on in the car to clear the windows. i took 2 coats up to the car this morning when i took DH to work. one for me to wear and one to put over DD to keep her warm

    Hi everyone

I've been pretty bad with this the last week or two. I blame starting Uni, it's taken over everything. The diet has gone to pot a bit because I've got my husband home and he is a terrible influence (and I am easily led). I've maintained the loss I did have though, I just haven't lost any more.

On the money side of things, well, I've spent some on uni stuff and have all but done the christmas shopping but haven't paid anything else off the debt. I need to get organised next week.

My 12 week plan would be:

Week 1 (starting Sunday 20th September as just dropped son off at uni and need to get over the shock!)-just about recovered although he had had the flu so have been a bit worried!
Sort out switch for electric and gas-Have opted out of being tied into to next capped deal for now as standard variable rate exactly the same at mo-still doing research as to where to go next
Still keep onto student finance-success-they have agreed tuition and maintenence was applied for and have updated his details but the payments are still blocked so need to make sure they unblock them once they have verified son's national ins no
Get back into visiting the gym at least twice a week- went on 24th & 25th September

    Week 2 27/09/09–04/10/09
Still keep onto student finance-see above-still blocked!
Re-evaluate budget and work out how to cope whilst waiting for student finance to cough up-in a bid to cope with this have resorted to cash only spending and am using emergency account at a rate of £70.00 per week(Friday-Friday) for everything for this month-got to Thursday this week then went over by £4.40 as had to buy two lots of antibiotics for me-so am deducting this from next weeks spending
Plan meals to get used to not having to feed 18year old with hollow legs!
-much easier than I thought as we eat almost anything-using up freezer contents first and plan special meal for Saturday nights-last week Sainsburys £10 meal deal-this week Sainsburys £5.00 curry meal deal which with a bottle of wine came to £8.50-can't drink now anyway as on tablets!

Get back into visiting the gym at least twice a week-Not gone this week due to being poorly

    Week 3 - continue from week 2

Budget still going wwlll have stayed within £70.00 per week despite haveing to pay out £21.00 on prescriptions and £16.00 on new batteries for my personal organiser without which I would be lost
Still keep onto student finance -payments still blocked -giving them one more week then attempting to ring them
Start looking for Christmas presents as I will now know how much money I have to spare for this-have started looking at the mail order catalogues and gift catalogues from shops and making list of ideas-have discovered small stash of money in an old account which I will use towards Christmas-hooray!

Shop around for quotes for buildings and contents insurance-still ongoing have narrowed it down to two-will renew after 16th of month so it will be on next months credit card bill
Spoil son when he comes home from Uni for weekend-Done!
Tidy up leaves from garden and take plastic pots to Notcutts for recycling-leaves tidied-pots to Notcutts on Wednesday

  • Ok a wee update on where i am at, i have let this fall by the wayside the last week or so as i have had a lot on so need to amend a few goals and get stuck in this week

    1. buy and wrap all christmas presents, apart from DH's, he will only get if i have any cash left
    2. Lose 1 stone
    3. Pay off mastercard (around £450) (not sure this is going to happen unless i do number 4 which i keep putting off but any thign i pay towards it is good)
    4. Clear huge box of baby clothes from bottom of stairs and either ebay or give away.
    5. use my wii fit at least 5 times a week (apart from last week this is being accomplished)
    6. Decorate bedroom and hall
    7. sort out huge laundry/ironing/general clothes piles that are lying around hte house (still going with this but i am getting htere, its ridiculous how many clothes the 8 of us have)
    8. sort out the 3 boxes of paperwork i keep shoving away (all finished 15/9)
    9. sort out the miscellaneous box i now have from bits and pieces i found in the paperwork boxes lol (this box seems to have vanished but i am not sure where too  must ask DH where it is)

    Plans for this week

sort out rest of clothes with the "help" of kids who are all off, and make a start on the box of clothes, we get quite a lot of charity bags through our door for collection so might do half and hafl with ebay as the thought of putting it all on ebay is horrifying theres that much

CB Why don't you sort into age range of clothes i.e. Aged 2-3 girls clothes and then list them in bulk. Means you will get rid of more of them and quicker
