    How's the running going Squizz?

Did a couple of runs last week, but only up to 3 miles, not done a long one for a while. It's feeling good when I do it though.

    What about you?

I finally got over my mental block and ran on Saturday. It was hell on earth :rotfl: but am glad to be back into it, and looking forward to next run on Wednesday. Then will attempt a longer one at the weekend.

I am secretly plotting to buy a Garmin too - I think it would help motivate me - I'm sick of the Nike+ thing, it's rubbish.

Good stuff:T Hmm I looked at the Nike+ but decided it wasn't worth it, tried GPS on my phone but it was rubbish, think I'll stick to mapping out online and using a stopwatch :D

I do that now, but somehow I find having a gadget that talks to me very motivating. Just shows how lonely I must be if I need a talking watch for company!! :rotfl:

Sally - watch out....Sammy is onto you!

Are you doing the Liverpool half Sammy? I'm pre-registered for GNR, but I think I need something closer (date-wise), otherwise I can see myself finding excuses not to run over winter. :o

I'll try not to flirt with it Squizz....not *quite* that desperate yet! :D

    Hi :j

    Well done to everyone!!

To keep in step with original post from sallyx, I've decided to amend list to 11 weeks and to calculate some targets assuming a 5 day week so I don't try to catch up water drinking (read somewhere that was dangerous!).

    So far:

1 Drink 8 glasses of water a day 5/55 (not bad)
    2 Have 4 no-alcohol days per week 4/44 (brill)
3 Learn how to use e-bay and sell some unwanted items No (scaredy-cat!)
4 Join 'flylady' thread and keep on top of the housework (lurked for a few weeks) Yes and got 4 out of 5 stars last week
5 De-clutter spare room (can only open the door - can't actually get in there!) Partly - did flylady sessions in there and can get to window
6 Buy no new clothes (see 5 - that's part of the problem in there) 0/0 (and Next sale was on, but I was strong)
7 Make do and mend - do one sewing task a day, even if it's sewing on a button! 0/55 (ashamed, but weather was so good and was busy with Flying)
8 One walk a day for 5 days a week (or use x-trainer) 10/55 (this was easy as live by sea and weather was brill)
9 Organise paperwork Part (did half hour as part of Flying)
10 Complete arm exercises 5 days a week - banish the bingo wings! 5/55
11 Complete tummy exercises 5 days a week - banish the wobbles! 5/55
12 Christmas pressies/cards sorted by 1st December - find last year's leftover bits to use up Part - sorted out folder for xmas lists

So not a bad week. Although these challenges aren't going to make me debt free they will stop me wasting money eg gym fees when I could exercise at home, using up food in freezer as part of Flying (we had several Freezer Surprise meals as I am not good at labelling).

What really surprised me was how good Flying was at getting me to focus on one room at a time - actually quite proud of the place now. My Room of Doom is still a problem, but I have made inroads! When I report getting 5 stars then you will know that I have got on top of all the clutter!)

Hope everyone has a brilliant Week 3

    J

I'm going to be a tad more practical (or honest) and review my list a little

    1. Sort out my finances and make the most of the fresh styart, get ready for the OR interview I have done this now, and am all prepared (I hope!)
    2. Spend at least one/one half a day of quality time with my partner and not take our time for granted Ongoing
    3. Accept that all offspring have flown the nest and declutter and tidy the big bedroom and move into it This is going to be delayed, I am not ready, the room is not ready, so we have agreed to put this on pause!
    4. Exercise at least three times a week I laugh! Maybe if I reduce this to once I may have a chance, so once it is!
    5. Complete my Christmas shopping Ongoing
    6. Unwrap and use the gift of a slow cooker I had ages ago and return to good old fashioned home cooking all done and ongoing, so I am going to replace this with....
7.Work harder and better to support the small charities that we do, make a boost to their income in some small way
    8. Make more of an effort to keep in touch with friends and be social and realise that work has taken over a bit Ongoing
To those who are given much, much is expected

        £2025 in 2025 = £680.60
          Food Budget £180/9.30.
