get rid of books?
Does not compute. Out of cheese error.
or is that just me?:o:o
I am completely incapable of getting rid of books. I hate it when I sell them, I can just about cope with giving them to people I know and like, but only if I have read them first.
.
I agree... I LOVE books and would happily take them all off your hands if I was local to you WILF... might have to buy a new bookcase though!!!
ohhhh I love my books... Now, apparently Derren Brown is just about to stick me to my seat, so I must go wee, just in case!!!:rotfl:
very quiet here tonight, the telly must be good for a change!!!

Serena - I was going to go for Biflorus Miss Vain on the crocus- £45/1000 which is painful but worth it for the end result, I went for tommasinianus (barrs purple I think) last year for the carpet at the back, and I like the idea of the scent at the front. I have thymes/lavender on the border the bin lorry crushes and that works really well. Might have to get the Anna Pavord for my dad for his birthday - I have to pre read it to check all the words are there! I want this tulip for the border that used to be a rock garden - dining room window looks over it, but I would need enough bulbs to make an impact so just not an option given the lack of work I have at the moment. One thing I have learnt here is that a few of something just doesn't work sadly. My Nyssen wish list runs into the hundreds .
I picked up my double belfast sink today :j. If I am very lucky DH may even start building the kitchen some time soon. one day this house will be lovely. and very, very full of books
I am really lucky that this husband understands about books and is just as bad as me. He is horrified when I do make myself get rid of stuff. One in one out Serena - that is just horrible! Mrs B - the more I know of you, the more I like you!

Hi everyone, yes me AWOL again
but I know you all know how stupidly busy I've been so I won't apologise for not catching up and just offer a ((hug)) to my lovelies. Decided to stay home this evening and just pop up the caravan for during the day tomorrow as we're away Sunday at a show, I am full of cold still so neither is a definate yet.
Quillion their loss, obviously you were too good for them, I would ask for more feedback. Maybe worth you feeding back about the way you were treated too x
greenbee can you just get another tree surgeon to quote? I used a guy who did council work midweek then his own on weekends.
Mudders hope your Dad and DS are better soon
pigpen I'm another pleased the kids are getting a decent meal at school, remembering to feed them lately has been a bonus....lol
Mrs B well done!!
LL wow Boston, hope it goes well
Hex do they not do daffodils with thornsI love the black tulips
The good news is on the 27th of September I will be finished my courses (for this year) will have handed the keys in for the old house and will be flying off to Spain for a much needed break.............the bad news is how much stuff I need to get done before I bloomin' go!!! I've been over old house and finished the painting I am going to do doing the doors, steps and walls again this morning. I filled the car (well ish as my back refused to do any more) packed the stuff from the top of the FF, then came home, unfortunately DP been in a sorry for himself mood so I have left it in the car for when he WILL help tomorrow....I hope. I did try to cut the grass at the old house but DP left the grass box here and it just kept clogging up as there was no way to hold it up. Normal stuff loaded and unloaded DW (needs refilling) 2 washer loads
Did my interview today for my exam for my inclusive ed course which went reallly well, just hoping after all this I pass!
Ordered myself a swimming costume off Bravissimo, bit expensive but just hope it fits, sick of wearing something I need to adjust as soon as I move in the waterI also as those with FB may have seen ended up having a 'tiff' with I*** on the phone, since we got the TV unit we had no door openers, they said 'supplier issue' I clicked Belfast by accident and it said they had hundreds...anyway so I asked what to do about returning it (I didn't mean it, it took ages to build....just to scare) so they agreed to post them out free of charge from another store
result.
Must go got problems with DS2 who keeps saying he's scared in his room, been on & off since we moved and it's a little odd ...then rewind Strictly....watching the young lad off Hollyoaks (Ricky?) he's done well on the group dance..then do a list for tomorrowOne day I might be more organised...........

I am completely incapable of getting rid of books. I hate it when I sell them, I can just about cope with giving them to people I know and like, but only if I have read them first.
The house is oddly clean. DH was a bit shocked .
*coughs* Wilf - feel free to PM me an idea of what sort of thing. I may be able to help to remove some, although I am treble stacked atm. Just waiting for my lovely bookcase corridor.....
ps I can get rid of books - I borrow loads from my sister, and she won't take them back, as she has a tiny house and operates a strict one in-one out policy with books. I pass them on to a neighbour and then to Oxfam. The above does not include my gardening books and don't think of asking me to remove so much as one page of my collection of Gardens Illustrated.Mrs_Beatson wrote: »I agree... ohhhh I love my books... Now, apparently Derren Brown is just about to stick me to my seat, so I must go wee, just in case!!!:rotfl:
I have to cull my books regularly as I've run out of room! I have two large floor to ceiling bookcases (one on the study, one in the living room), plus one small one, the whole of the back wall in the loo (which is where I keep the trashy reading!), a couple more shelves in the study and a couple of shelves of cookbooks. All walk books & maps are out in the utility room. There's nowhere left to put anymore bookshelves (believe me, I've tried to work it out) without actually building them in, and the house isn't really big enough for it to work. Still, at least now I know I can offload them onto Mrs B in future!
Remember though, books make good insulation, so floor to ceiling bookcases on outside walls are a great idea!
Kitchen is looking tidier, despite the vast amount of veggies that need dealing with, as I've actually managed to clear half the table mostly onto the stairsso hopefully downstairs will be done successfully tomorrow.
I think I might actually go to bed soon. I'm tired! I don't even think I can be bothered to have a bath!0 -
