I know guys just not liking being out of work. Especially after the !!!!!! way i was treated today. I should have staggered in drinking a can of Magners like the guy before me and she never said a word to him !!
I hate the Job center - I'm actually not claiming benefits I'm entitled to as I can't face having to go there every two weeks. It's a horrible place, the staff as really rude and like you say, the people who don't make any effort get treated politely (I guess the staff feel they have to be nice to them or they might get punched) and the nice people (you and me) get treated like idiots.

How come you're all so quiet? has the sight of Natty's list exhausted everyone, or are you all frantically trying to catch up with her? :p

Parcel packed up for zoe, so more stuff being decluttered (including quite a significant proportion of old cardboard/jiffy bag packaging which has been irritating me for a while!). Hopefully I'll get to the post office tomorrow.

I suppose I should go and make myself something to eat and work out some kind of plan for trying to get things done by next weekend!

I'm not quiet.. I'm just not here and/or slacking.

I loaded the DW, put another load of washing in and opened a tin of potatoes for the childrens dinner and plonked fish fingers under the grill.. it is a good job they get a decent meal at school!

I'm going for that nap I wanted at 3:30 now... then I may go to the pub.

Could you sell them? Or take them to the local book bank or a charity shop?

    get rid of books?

Does not compute. Out of cheese error.

or is that just me? :o:o:o

I am completely incapable of getting rid of books. I hate it when I sell them, I can just about cope with giving them to people I know and like, but only if I have read them first.

The house is oddly clean. DH was a bit shocked .

*coughs* Wilf - feel free to PM me an idea of what sort of thing. I may be able to help to remove some, although I am treble stacked atm. Just waiting for my lovely bookcase corridoor.....

I'll hopefully get the kids to do their rooms tomorrow. Unlikely that DS1 will do anything, as he's gone to a house party and is staying over, will no doubt sleep the rest of the weekend.

I've booked the surprise weekend for OH's birthday - it's actually this Sunday, but he couldn't get out of a meeting today, so we're going next weekend instead. It's one of those landmark birthdays, so a big fuss will be made! I won't let him know where we're going, and I'll tell you afterwards! Don't want him sneaking a look.;) He came home from work with an amazing cake that one of his colleagues has made for him - it's in the shape of one of those Subway sandwiches, with icing tomatoes, olives, lettuce etc - wonderful. I'll get DS1 to take a photo and post it when he gets over the hangover.:p

hex - I'm so glad that the azaleas and crocosmia aren't out at the same time! I'd think the crocuses would look good. Crocus tommasinianus would seed itself about, and may be more economical - but then you'd have to wait for that wonderful splash! Did you know that Anna Pavord has written a new book called simply 'Bulbs' (or maybe The Bulb??). It's out soon and is on my Christmas list. Love her writing. My copy of Plant Partners is almost disintegrating. I am broke as usual this month, so I haven't even opened my Peter Nyssen catalogue. I need more tulips. Really, I do.:D

toots - Yes, I shall be working quite hard on those two days, and I expect the two new classes will be quite demanding. On the plus side, I already take two Year 8 groups, so the planning I already do for them will only need tweaking, and slightly different resources made for the new groups. Love and hugs - you sounded full of bounce today!

dusty - I had asked DS2 to give me some tips re DoE - but he didn't get round to it. Hope your DS has a great time!

ps I can get rid of books - I borrow loads from my sister, and she won't take them back, as she has a tiny house and operates a strict one in-one out policy with books. I pass them on to a neighbour and then to Oxfam. The above does not include my gardening books and don't think of asking me to remove so much as one page of my collection of Gardens Illustrated.
