Thanks Greenbee. The school have never done DofE before and it seems a rather steep learning curve. We have only had 1 week notice of the expedition (he has completed the other 3 parts already). Fortunately this is only the trial go so lots of lessons can be learnt! He doesn't drink hot drinks (well the occassional hot chocolate so maybe I'll get him a sacket of that). They take a packed lunch for the second day so I can get that organised quite easily.

Hopefully someone will have some more up to date information for you! I did mine with the cadets when I was at boarding school a very long time ago!
greenbee - I get tired just reading how much you are managing to pack into a day.

It doesn't feel like I'm managing to get much done, but its good to hear that someone else thinks I am. Sometimes you need someone else's perspective on things. I think we're all a little unrealistic at times about what we can actually do in the available time (with the possible exception of wilf, who if you look at the decluttering thread, appears to have thrown out the contents of several libraries from her tardis :T:T) Good luck with the decorating - the carpet should be a great incentive.

    Congratulations mudbath!!!

Well done Quillion - I was a bit concerned about the mention of stripping until you explained about the wallpaper ...

lil-me - hope all your colds get better. I only get the headaches/bunged-up-ness in the mornings. I'm also really itchy again - I've come to the conclusion that my skin is over-sensitised for some reason, as my face was red and sore after my bath (red after a bath isn't that unusual, sore is). The days I've been better are the ones when I've been outside most of the day (down in Devon), so maybe a bit more fresh air and exercise is the answer :o

I've had a nice relaxing epsom salt bath, drunk lots of water and read a magazine, so hopefully will sleep well.

    List for Thursday-Sunday:

    new rear tyres on car
    book hair appointment
book massage, waxing, reflexology, salt scrub
book personal trainer/gym/classes for next 2 weeks
check dates to see Alex & Sam next week
    chase tree surgeon
    transfer NS&I ISA
    open 2009/10 ISA
meter readings for gas & elec & check for any refunds
contact local woodstove companies for quotes
put back fire surround & mantel piece
min. one module per day Italian & find audiobooks/DVDs
    clear ironing pile

Plus S&S whole house as a minimum

zoe (((hugs))) hope the meds work and you feel better real soon.
Jo (((hugs))) you are right honey - you need to look after yourself - hope the new job is going ok.
boddy thanks that will be really good of them it will just keep the sunshine I have just now going a little longer!!!! (hugs)
mudders well done for getting on with your asssignments - and I am sure you will do really well (((hugs))) ETA WTG you clever girl :T:T
elly2 thats a bargain wih the bed -well done - I am pleased DD has taken the chance to emprove herself - I really do hope she sticks to the contract (((hugs)))
dusty (((hugs))) I am sorry you are having a hard time when you are on your own - tis not fair! I hope you got DS sorted with his maths and did you survive your mother's visit?
Wilf - she's a nasty piece of work - thank good ness you could prove where DS was - imagine if you couldnt even if you knew it wsnt him:eek: well done with the advice to tinkerbells mum - it was brilliant and yes I have been there too.
froddy hi honey are you feeling any better today.
Triker - I hope your day resting has helped - was it doing the chickens shopping etc yesterday that was too much do you think?
tinkerbellsmum huge squishy hugs first! You got loads of good advice already and most of what I would I ahve said too - love lists but dont be vague like' clear living room cupboards' be very exact even if it looks like tiddly jobs -break all the jobs down as much as you can - little 5 minute jobs are things that you can fit in anywhere and they all count in the end.

I would work backwards from your moving date and mark your calender with what has to be done by when - day before make sure you have food organised for moving day etc - and give yourself targetrs to work towards and that might help you feel as if you are getting somewhere - like 2 weeks prior 'have all cupboards emptied and cleaned' -that sort of thing HTH honey - keep us posted with your progress - if you only have 2 months to go (and a LO to 'help' you:rotfl: ) if i was you I wouldnt really be worrying about keeping up with the lists - you know you can do them so you will do them fine in your new house especially if you go with everything in order, clean, sorted through etc etc- it would be better to get sorting through clothes toys and general stuff so that everything is organised and you are not taking anything extra with you and having to sort out stuff when you get there- BE RUTHLESS!!
(remember to mark the boxes which room they are going into so you can get them in the right place at the other end or if they are piled up you know which ones you want.
rosepink well done on your vol work- and good to see you have got some of your extras done - re the comment I made about the 'S&S'ing -what I was trying to say in my cackhanded way was that you had missed off the bathroom - I would expect you are doing it everyday but its not on your list? -yes you are right some of your 'dailies' are not what i would consider dailies and yes you can have whatever you want on your list - I am very sorry I have offended you and I wont interfere or pass comment on your lists again unless you ask me a question regarding the stars/ lists
lav1979 me moi misbehaving - I think you have me mixed up with someone else -:rotfl: thanks hun - I am okish.
lil_me oh honey i am sorry but I had a right chuckle about your DP's Grandma calling the police - I hope you havent had any real emergencies to deal with!!! Thanks for the mention of Sainsburys we are meant to be getting one built here soon - are they expensive or on par with tesco/asda can anybody tell me?
SS supergirl babes - thanks for that I will have a proper look tomorrow when I am less tired. :A:A:A
aunty crafty welldone with the decorating thoughts - have you much to do?
michelle thanks I am here just very tired after a busy day (well for me that is)- then 6 very long but extremely enjoyable phone calls tonight - one in particular made me laugh a lot!!!!

then internet played up so I am up to date now and will crash into bed shortly before a long but very enjoyable day tomorrow at a friend's 90th birthday lunch.
Quillion sounds like a good way of working to me!

    Morning ladies!yawn2.gif
It's my mums birthday today. She hasn't spoken to me in 3 yrs and I miss her. I sent her some flowers as usual though.
Rosepink - Thank you so much honey!!
Mudbath - well done on finishing your assignment!
Didn't get into the garden yesterday. Instead I emptied and sorted two wardrobes and three draws full of my and my OHs clothes. We now have two bin bags full of clothes for the charity shop and threw away about another bag full. My OHs dad and my godson have been given some tshirts and jumpers, (everything with amusing or rude slogans on went to my godson) We also had some of those suckyhooverstoragebagthingys from Lidls so I moved about a 3rd of my wardrobe of clothes-that-don't-fit-but-I-can't-bear-to-part-with-them into one and stored it at the bottom of my wardrobe. Got lots more room now though and it only took us about 3 hours to do!!

Ok, my list for today is as follows -
Feed the cat at least twicecat.gif
    Brush the cat
    Sort and delete 20 emails
    reply to emails
    Clean bathroom sink
Spray bleach on the bottoms of the shower curtains
    Extras
Polish the computer, phone and tv screen in the office
Research carpet cleaning firms for quotes
    Darn the ripped sheet
Make a Get Well Soon card
    Post on gardening Forum
organise OH to water the entire garden
Print out list of vehicles to discuss with Motability man
I hope you all have a successful day flying! hugs.gifto all who need them.

  • Toots darling lovely to hear from you but what were you doing up at that hour???:eek::eek:
Hope you enjoy the birthday lunch.

Decorating - I'm only doing one room - my bedroom, but it means I have to work round the furniture I can't move - bed dressing-table. The fun is going to be lifting the old carpet - I know I will have to hoover up the underlay :rotfl:
