They don't hate the British. If you avoid the resorts. Go to Barcelona or Madrid or Seville.
I agree Colin - I especially liked Seville and the people were friendly to us when we were there - I suppose it depends on how you behave and how you respect the local people and their cultureKeep the Faith:cool:0 -

I would recommend Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Italy, Slovenia and Sweden as places of outstanding natural beauty from the places i've been....How much you spend depends on what you're doing there. I can't imagine you hostelling somehow so it would cost you more for a hotel. If you aren't planning on drinking that cuts a lot of the costs.'Throw off the bowlines.

Only problem is that Norway is very expensive as is Switzerland
True enough, there are ways and means if you really want to see them though. It's a question of what you are willing to compromise. I stayed in a hostel on the side of a mountain in Switz for less than 10 quid a night and it was the best place ive ever stayed/been bar none.'Throw off the bowlines.

I have been told if you go on the ferry to Rottadamn that is cheap but they have no mountains in Holland do they?:beer:0
