Since January 2006 and the lightbulb moment have found the OS boards to be invaluable, now have

SC - use for large joints, casseroles and freezer weekends.
BM - donated from friend who had it stuck in a corner, now dab hand at pizza base and wholemeal bread! Will try jam when autumn comes.
Compost bin - bargain buy at £4 from local council
Hand blender from Tesco - great for soups in the pan, saves on washing up!
Soda crystals - loads of uses add to washing powder to bulk out.
White vinegar - use as conditioner in alternate washes, cleaning windows etc etc
    Microfibre cloths - endless uses
Lots of fruit and veg from the local market
Meat from the butchers - now on first name terms and because I buy in bulk once a month get some really nice 'extra's' thrown in.
Seeds and a small outside greenhouse - have spinach, carrots, potatoes, basil, sweetcorn and tomatoes on the go at the moment.
Sandwich boxes - all four of us take packed lunches to work/school at a fraction of the cost of bought stuff.

Am sure there are more but reading the list feel quite virtuous really and am sure the outlay was worth it as we are now either greener or healthier and the windows are gleaming!

keep up the good work OS

This post has 'made' me buy even more microfibre cloths - I had been using them for damp dusting, but have now tried them for washing up and wet cleaning and am hooked!! Have just found 3 for 89p in Tesco - my cheapest yet!!
