Fire Fox, I like that idea, what would you suggest? She eat wiskers dry kitten food at the moment, but I dont mind spending more if you think it would help.

Hehe... mad kittens. My Rocco used to stalk and bring my DH down when he was walking through the living room - it was like watching a leopard bring down a wildebeest! I used to scruff him like his mother would when he was misbehaving (he actually seemed to like it sometimes), and we also got Soft Claws for him; stopped using them after a few months as he learned not to scratch; same with Cara, she never scratches and has only ever had one set of Claws. She is a proper cuddle monster now, but our vet is terrified of her - she is uncontrollable when being handled by someone of whom she is unsure. I don't think that will ever change.

I love that you called your cat Ninja. It's so apposite! :D

Don't want to alarm you but I have an Evil cat, and he is about 10months now.

He is evil.....he has ripped wallpaper off, also the wires that are around door frame etc, chewed through earphones, steals food, attacks you if you don't give him said food etc etc. He's hard work! My house looks a mess now because of him, I feel like I'm constantly putting wall plugs in!

Luckily he doesn't run up me, I think I'd cry my eyes out if he did (weighs about 5kg)

On the flip side he is also the most affectionate cat in the world, crys his eyes out if you don't let him on your lap, just don't show him an armpit, cause he starts trying to suckle it

Awww one of my mum's cats used to suckle armpit hair when he was little, and the big cat's neck. Now he still sleeps curled up and kneeding his brother (who is a complete cat head-case) if at all possible. He's like the idiot baby brother who grew up slightly "slow" if you get what I mean, but he's such a sweet natured little thing compared to his evil brother - it's like the Mitchells in Eastenders - one's Phil (hard nut, more than slightly mental) and one's Billy (would make two short planks look intelligent)!

When we tell our kitten off he goes and sits somewhere we can see him but where he's slightly hidden and sulks. He puts his head down and looks really sad.
Then i feel sorry for him and have to fuss him, i think he does it on purpose lol

If he's doing something naughty though i make this noise, sounds a bit like 'psssshhhsss' lol. But it works and he stops doing it, then goes and sulks and then gets fuss....
    :rolleyes::p

My kittens are doing this too, one more than the other. They're 15 weeks old now. I'm assuming they'll grow out of it, other kittens I've lived with in the past did.

Mine seem to do it when they want to be up and have a look at what I'm doing, e.g. when I've got my back to them and I'm doing the dishes.

I'd suggest locking him out of the room when you're doing the things that only take a few mins such as brushing your teeth, and lifting him up so he can see what you're doing when your doing the things that take longer like the dishes.

    Hmmm.

He was manic, he bounced off walls and furniture and just ran riot.
I've had cats (from kittens) for over 30 years and have never seen anything like it.
When I picked him up, he'd bite my nose. He took swipes at us as we walked past.
Sometimes he just launches himself at us and digs his claws and teeth in for no reason at all.
If I tell him off, he goes and and batters his ping-pong balls up and down the hall in a paddy.
It's really a constant battle to keep on top of him.

We do think that his brain got a bit cross-wired when he was so ill so we've always cut him some slack.

He's never lost that feral instinct .

You may well be describing my cat Zorro!!! He's lovely but used to do all this and more - particularly climbing up my legs (when I was wearing trousers!). Unfortunately Zorro (because of his slashing ability) now lives with my mother in law who has lots of cats. He lives there because I married a military man and we move a lot - less disturbance for him. He's been there over 6 years now. He still only lets me and my MIL touch his back.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

He's never lost that feral instinct and has been a phenomenal hunter, always eating his catches after bringing them to me for my approval.
Sometimes he looks at my OH as though to say 'Who are you? And what are you doing in my house?'
He will just not have anything to do with anyone else, he acts like they're invisible if they try to talk to him or pet him.

But for all his faults, we still love him.

I'm sure that Ninja will grow out of it with a bit of perseverance and discipline.

Furball 3 is like this. He was part feral and had been abused as a kitten when we got him. He would bite, scratch, attack. Pick him up and you'd be left with ripped arms. Walk past him and your ankles or legs would be attacked and bitten.

He would go absolutely loopy sometimes. I've watched him run horizontally around walls (actually up on the wall, I assume gripping onto the woodchip wallpaper) and off the furniture. He once finished a wall running session by jumping on me and using me as a launching pad. I ended up smacked to the floor with the force with deep cat scratches left on my chest from his back claws.

But he has settled down. we had him neutered, which had an effect within about a month and were consistent with discipline. The latter consisted of a stern 'No' and then we took our attention away from him or moved to another area. We also used a water spray when he was being really very bad. He is now a lovely, big-hearted softie who is easily distracted by a solid ear scratching or a treat. A firm no is enough to immediately stop him if he's doing his bum-wiggle ready to attack our feet. He also retracts his claws now when we play with him - Soft Claws for us and Hard Claws for prey!

He has plenty of toys - rattly mice, ping pong balls and his particular favourite, homemade catnip mini pillows. He can spend hours lying on his back in front of the fire gazing dreamily into space after licking the bejaysus out of one.

He hasn't stopped jumping off a large 5ft chest of drawers right into the middle of my stomach when I'm asleep in bed though :D
