Do not go onto a Vodafone contract! They are way too overpriced and a waste of money. I am paying £35 per month (nearly £43 including Vodafone Family) and I get 500 minutes and 1000 texts. However, I cannot send or recieve picture messages (for some reason they store recieved messages on the internet which is not always accesible) and the customer service is rubbish! Luckily, my contract is ending soon and I can guarentee that the minute it ends I will be getting a 3 contract.
My boyfriend has had his contract with 3 for nearly 18 months now, the same time that I have had mine, and his service is a million times better! He has exactly the same phone as me, the Sony Ericsson W850i and he has absolutly no problems. (Except when there was a fault with the games on the phone, but he sent it off and within a week it was returned, fixed and with newly installed software, no questions asked). He can picture message and video call with no problems and the network coverage is available even in low signal areas!
What I like most about 3 is the fact that you can access the home network site on the phone and check your usage for free, so if there is the chance you will go over your limit, you can check beforehand anytime, anywhere.:T
He also gets every single bill, the same time every month, which is more than I can say for Vodafone who haven't sent me a bill since the third month into my contract!
It seems to me that the majority of complains about 3 come with the Nokia or Nec phones...
Anyway, 3 has some advantages over voda - its accessible 24/7 (due to call centres located in india) and its possible to check you inclusive minutes/sms and other charges straight away , on contract voda it take something between 3 and 12 hours (if not more) to find out how many min/sms are left. I think its done on purpose and voda want to confuse customers and make them pay more money.0 -
I must say i agree with the last post, I am coming to the end of my Vodafone Contract and for the past 6 months i have had nothing but hassle with the handset and their incompetance at resolving the issue so much so i have started a new contract with Three and i must say so far i am impressed with what i have seen the instant access is fab and i like the way you can access Planet 3 and have TV on your mobile (i Have a viewty) for 49p for 24 Hours well worth it if theres something you want to watch while your away from home etc.
My hubby is on 3 too he moved over last year from T Mobile as again Three were doing some good deals
Vodafone have contacted me several times with various retention deals and as tempting as they are i have resisted, I am however still awaiting the PAC code which they would only send by POST i have done this several times and have been given the number over the phone with no problems at all
so what do i say about Three - GO FOR IT !!BSC MEMBER 319 - AD 22ND JULY 20110 -
I am with 3 i have a sony ericcson k610i which is my second on the first the sound went on it now this one keeps turning it self off or freezes
there customer service is crap
i phone and asked if i could transfer my 50 credits that i dont use each mth to texts as im on an 18 mth contract which ends in sept , and i pay £25 per mth and just kept geting told i could pay extra £5 per mth for 500 min when i dont want then i just wanted to put 50 credits i dont use each month on me text but no .
they a quick enough to off another contract so i could have 2 phones
which i dont want
never really had any trouble with net work as i live in west sussex
but can never get on my msn to check it0 -
billpayer, you may have already tried this, but ask 3 for pac code and get you number transfered to another network on payg. this will mean your new payg company will transfer your number and close the 3 account automatically.0

billpayer - try searching google for the complaints email address based in Glasgow. Worked for me, and I had a solution to the problem I was having within a couple of days."outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. inside of a dog, it's too dark to read" - Groucho Marx0

Three is a nightmare. You have been warned.0

I've said before and i'll say it again- 3 are the best mobile network operator out there, I have been with the all other networks and none of them offer anywhere near the best value for money, I am also very happy with the customer service provided(Indian or non Indian call centres).
Personally I can't see the point of this thread though, as there will always be people with good and bad things to say about ALL the mobile operators.0 -

You obviously haven't tried to unblock your phone with three with a phone bought at THEIR store. They are never touching my money again. Nothing to do with Indian or Non-Indian....0
