Handset: Nokia 6630, nice phone, easy to use.

Most comonly used location: Southampton :- good signal in most places
also on Exmoor: mostly good signal with a few dead spots and very little 3G coverage.

Ease, reliability and connection: currently no easy way to use the phone as a modem on this network unless you pay an extra £15 a month for it. customer services are not that great although i think that is due to a language barrier. for some reason my phone won't connect when i make a call so i have to restart the phone, then it works

    I'd give it 7 out of 10

Same handset (not a Nokia fan admittedly) excellent battery life, quite a good little camera surprisingly, syncs perfectly with my Mac.

Voice dial has NEVER worked and bluetooth performance could be better, though it does handle concurrent BT connections when its used with GPS and headset most of the time. Most of the phone problems can be laid at the door of "3's" firmware as the generic software seems to be fine.
  • I have two contract pones with 3 one for my business use and one for my daughter at uni. Her LG phone has now packed up for the fourth time. We have had two replacement refurbished models and now the latest new replacement has also packed up. All customer services want to do is offer a free upgrade if we renew. I keep telling them not interested until they sort this problem out. I shall not renew either contract until it is sorted. Any one else have problems like this?

I do wonder how much respect your daughter accords to her phone!

Quite happy with my Nokia N70 (refurb so 18months half-price). 3 reception good here in Bonnie Scotland, occasionally drops to 2g but pretty reliable.

I haven't bothered with email on mine - content to see them when I get home! We browsing of non-mobile friendly sites slow but acceptable.

I came to the end of my contract in October, call from 3 offering new Sony 850 & fantastic talk plan. Told them i would get back to them, researched it and found the same deal but with 3 months 1/2 price line rental.

Spoke to their disconnections department as they would not match the 1/2 price package, but after some haggling they agreed (price promise?).

I noticed that they hadn`t upgraded my talk plan and spent a rather unhappy 1 1/2 hours discussing it. No apologies were forthcoming and I asked about the 1/2 price line rental. They told me that I hadn`t been offered it as it wasn`t on the record!

I went through the roof and they proceeded to infer that I wasn`t telling the truth. Again no apologies, simply inferring that I was mistaken. The conversation continued and the supervisor statted that perhaps I had been misled by the sales person, I replied if that was the case then the matter doesnt end here.

Ultimately I am in no position to prove or disprove what the sales person told me, and the offer has since been removed from the web site as it was 3 months ago. So I have been `had over`.

As with all of my dealings with their customer service the service offered has been frustrating and at best poor. 3 cut corners on CS so they can offer better packages. Phones & reception have been fine, but the customer service stinks the place out.
