I have to just say how impressed I've been with three customer services.
Although the centre is obviously offshore, I've never encountered such a polite and literate bunch of people. Their English puts many people to shame.
I've contacted them a couple of times now - to port a couple of numbers over, to register for the online bill services, resetting passwords and adding authorisers onto my accounts - all done without any fuss at all.
Cheers,
Adam0 -
I'm disappointed by the lack of choice of handsets really. Its because 3 use UMTS networks, whilst everyone else uses the GSM network. I think 3 should allow use of the GSM networks, because i don't use any of the 3G services, just text and voice calls.0

The CS has been off over the last few days due to 'system upgrades' - now I find it is too late to downgrade my tariff for this month which means I will be paying a fiver a month extra for each of the next 6 months - any advise? Also any advise on the 'you can only downgrade 1 step at a time' which is not in the T&C which only mention no downgrade in the first 6 months.I think....0

Hi i tried 3 over weekend and also couldn't deal with my problems, regarding your downgrade if you were elidgable and the system was down you should stress that point.
The problem with 3 is there usually is someone that can help but there are thousands of clowns in between that drive everyone crazy. I know it's hard but keep trying.0 -

JUST to update you I have now had 5 months of my existing contract canceled with no cancellation fee.
I opted to try another twelve months but demanded some sort of offer
I now have a Nokia 6680 8 months half price line rental and a Blue tooth headset on a twekve moth contract.
I have also sent an email and Letter to the CEO asking for all of me line rental money to be refund.( A bit of a long shot but worth a go) I'll let you know the outcome.
I've had the Nokia 6680 handset for about a week now and NO DROPPED CALLS instant connection and after the LGU8120,U8130,U8138/MOTORLA V975(TOY PHONE) Nightmare it seems to good to be true, i have also owned a Nokia 7600 and i must say that was reasonably stable as well.(I have also installed the programme that Locks the phone to O2 as a back up)
Maybe, no i know Lg have alot to answer for the handsets seem to be with Delivery companies more that the customers.
It would be good to know how other Nokia 6630/6680 customers are doing
i'm based in London.
Handset: NOKIA 6680 EXCELLENT
Most commonly used location: SOUTH LONDON
Ease and reliability and connection: NO PROBLEMS
Any other problems: ONLY WISH I COULD USE OTHER INTERNET SERVICES
Overall service and rating (out of 10):8/10
Customer service: STILL !!!!!! POOR but the plus side is i speak to them less as i now how a phone that works (Fingers crossed)
And by the way all the people that seem to think low price tariffs mean you have to accept a bad service WAKE UP .0 -
Phone: 7600
Contract start: October 2004
Tarrif: £30 1/2 for 12 months
Signee: Carphone warehouse
Cashback: Redeemable after bill 4 in one lump
I signed up in a mad rush with one month of my existing contract to run. I finally got hold of the handset I wanted the next morning (7600) but was misold - I was informed it had a radio when after I got it home it clearly didn't. Nevermind!
£15 a month was all I was paying for 500 minutes and 100 text. I use all minutes and texts a month. I have (once) gone over it and not been too shocked by the price.
I have lost a couple of calls - but that's due to bad phone coverage in a blackspot to all phones. Quality is fine and better than I've had from other operators in the area.
The customer service was awful, but then again, I've been getting my money worth. I won't renew my contract as I want to get one of the £4.99 deals with whatever phone is on offer. If it has bluetooth I'll be happy.Tim0 -
I have a motorola and am with the 3 network via dial a phone, Very cheap at 4.49p a month with500 free minutes cross network anytime and 100 text. The last three months of the year will cost me 30 pounds. Its the worst network I have ever been with. Coverage is terrible in my house and travelling locally(Northants are) and it can suddenly just cut off at any time!!!
Once the cheap contract is up I ma out of there but don't know where yet??

Phone LG 8120 (total cr*p)
Contract start October 2004
Tariff £15 for 500mins and 100 texts but I have to pay in full and send bills once a quarter to get a £45 rebate. Also got £50 cashback off the Carphone Warehouse who I signed up with.
This tariff is soooo cheap it might as well be free. Which is a good job because I have had nothing but trouble with the handset and 3 coverage. Although I must admit that it has improved over the past few months, I still get dropped calls and can't make calls sometimes and it says "service unavailable", despite having full signal.
My handset died so I could only talk using the rubbish handsfree set they gave me. I got a new handset, eventually, but then the handsfree kit died. They refused to replace it, claiming it wasn't covered by the warranty. After several vociferous complaints on my part, they met me half way and reimbursed me half the cost of getting a new one. A minor victory.
A sales person called me to get me onto a new contract and I was adamant that I will NOT go back to 3 for another year. However, having heard the prices on offer from other networks, I think I will have to stay with them. I told the sales guy that I wanted a Nokia and he immediately offered me the latest mega cool Nokia phone with mega pixel camera. Same deal as before, 500mins cross network any time and 100 texts for £30 a month, half price for 3 or 6months I think. You just can't argue with those kinds of prices. Of course he tried to tell me the deal was limited. I laughed at him and told him that I am perfectly well aware of how desperate 3 are for customers and that this means this ridiculously cheap deals will continue to be offered for some time yet.
My advice? If you can afford to, don't go with 3. They're a bunch of cowboys and their customer services stink to high heaven. The staff are usually very helpful but don't always speak very good English! If you want loads of inclusive cross network minutes, go with 3. You won't get a better deal. But don't expect the kind of service you get with the other providers. If I could afford it, I would go back to Orange. I miss them...No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30
