You really don't know what they do with the Bank Card ?0
-
The card number is used to identify the purchaser - this automatically flags against the ID database and CIFAS. Think of it as a 'soft' check - but check they do.0

ZhugeEX is right i have just took out a Sim only deal they checked my credit card and took 10p out.
I think all mobile network provider do the same check
Even the Carphonewarehouse did the same check when i took out a contract for my dd a couple of years ago.Nobody is Perfect. I am Nobody, therefore I am Perfect.0 -
The 10p/50p check is not a credit check in itself, it's a proof of ID where they check the name, address and postcode you've given is succsessful with a transaction, I.e matches up. But they will do a credit check, but you won't notice unless it gets referred and the shop assistant has to ring to get the result.
They won't be giving you 500+ quids worth of kit without checking you can pay it back first!
