    Yeah, this board is full of people advising that withholding payment is a good idea, isn't it?

  • I hven't had signal for about 5 days in my house from 3

    I rang them up after two days and they gave me the spiel about I was in a low coverage area have you tried leaving your house.
    Yes I had I had to walk at least 5 minutes in any direction to find signal.

    They call me back today and suddenly I find out that they have got rid of one of the 3 masts and it won't come back anytime soon. I find It ridiculous that I had perfectly good signal and now I have none.

    Apparently someone is going to call me up tomorrow about my contract, I think they are going to let me off the last 6 months because its their fault. I hope they go through with this.

    The gutting thing is I was really happy on 3, no problems before. I use my phone alot and I don't think I'm going to get a contract anywhere else because of my credit rating.
    £11,000 in 2011 = £71.74
  • If they've taken a mast away then I don't see that they have any real choice other than to cancel the remainder of your contract. I'm sure that legally they possibly could hold you to it but from a purely customer service and goodwill perspective, it's a no-brainer.

    I've just lost reception in my office with 3 as apparently there is maintenance on one of the masts. Given that I work in the City that does seem rather odd.

    It's making me a bit suspicous as I gave my 30 day notice on Friday.....
  • New Handset: Sony Ericsson Zylo Silver

    Ease and reliability and connection: 8/10

    Any other problems: n/a

    Overall service and rating (out of 10): 9/10

    New Deal Info -

    - rang hutchinson3g as my grandma was after a new phone, and was on a 1 month rolling contract.
    - i rang 3's customer options/retentions team

    - advised i was looking at their website and ahd seen an offer of the Sony Ericsson Zylo with 300 cross network mins/texts and 500mb internet usage on a 24 month deal = £13.00 per month

    - i then mentioned that my grandma was a long standing customer of 3, and i was offered;

    * 2000 cross network mins
    * 5000 texts
    * unlimited 3 - 3 calls
    * free voicemail
    * free msn messenger
    * 1 gb internet usage

    * £12.00 per month, 24 month deal ''not a top of the range phone but decent enough for my grandma''

    £12.00 per month = PEANUTS :beer:

  • Placed an order with them on the weekend. Later that day the e-mailed me to say call them urgently. I didn't see the e-mail until late and they were closed. Called back Monday morning and they said they had to take a message as they were busy!!

    I was promised that they would call me back by the end of the day....no call back receicved.

    I then phoned the following day and told them I wanted to cancel my order. They couldn't even tell me why they had asked me to contact them urgently and they didn't know why they had not processed my order?!

    If that is a reflection of the service they give, I was not going to stick around on an 18 month contract even if they are cheaper than the others.

    I know people who are on 3 and they have had no problems which is why I gave them a go.......too late now they have lost my custom
  • Handset:Sony Ericsson K850i (soon to be Orange San Francisco, unlocked)

    Most commonly used location: Dunstable and surrounds

    Ease and reliability and connection: Excellent. Very rarely do I have no signal. I can't recall many cases of being unable to connect. I use 3G regularly to check email, Facebook and Twitter.

    Any other problems:None.

    Overall service and rating (out of 10): 10. Three PAYG is superbly cheap and the service is brilliant. I would recommend this to anyone. All my friends are on Orange and O2 contracts, but they're silly.
  • I hate 3.

    I spent 2 months with no signal for internet and sos signal constantly.

    Sent it for repair, it was gone a month and came back unrepaired. I called to cancel and said i would pay. The offered me an iphone and i accepted but they said i caould change my mind.

    Didnt receive my phone when my contract was due to end so i called and said i didnt want the phone just cancel my contract - they said id have to give another 30 days notice. I spoke to the manager on and off all day until he agreed to cancel.

    On Nov 19th at 5pm it was cancelled. Then i received my last bill which confirmed it ended 19th Nov.

    On 4th December i receive the iphone in the post. It had been sent out 30th Nov by next day delivery even though they had confirmed i didnt want it.

    Now i have to pay to send it back!

    Customer services constantly told me they had fixed my signal but hadnt. Twice i was told they would call me back and they didnt. It took all day litterally to cancel my contract and after all the bad service they still wanted to call another day to offer me something!

    Grrrr!!
  • Handset Sony Erricson K..?
    Location Bristol & Plymouth

    Ease and reliability and connection My signal used to be terriable in both Plymouth (uni) and in Bristol (home) just inside my homes. It would be fine once you went outside. I would have one bar max and calls would cut out.

    Suddenly, about a year ago, I had full signal at both my addresses. I'm not sure want changed but since then I've had no problems with signal. My uncle is on Vodaphone and just last week had to go upstairs in my house in Bristol to get signal.

    As for customers services, it a mixture. When I called just enquring about something they are usually quite helpful but I have found when trying to upgrade they try and push deals on you and don't listen.

    Clearly, 3 signal is hit and miss. I don't recommend taking out a contract with them without testing signal at home, work etc either by trying PayG or asking a friend who is on 3.

    Rating 7/10

    Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    I live near Milton Keynes and in September joined 3 on a 24 month contract. I got a free Nokia Ovi with 300 cross network minutes, 300 3 to 3 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited internet. Initially it was fab but without warning they have stopped the 2g service where I am and for the last 7 weeks I have had little or no service at all. I emailed them, it took 13 days to respond but they did today. I was told that the 3g service wasnt up and running properly here yet and there service told them I had very limited coverage.

    They offered to reduce my monthly fee which I refused saying I had not been informed of the service switchover. They then offered to switch me to PAYG, again I said no so they've offered the release me from my contract without penalty though I do have to return the handset.

    Mixed feeling about 3, I've had numerous phone calls that got me nowhere but today's call was ok. I have a friend who used to work for 3 and shes says all there call centres are in Delhi, that they dont often respond to emails and that the best way to get anything useful out of them is by letter.

    Not sure if that helps anyone or not??

    Rant over............
