My current 18 month deal expires on 27th Feb, which will be why they are ringing me - after a problem with an upgrade cancellation (posted on here earlier) I moved onto their £10 sim-only tariff, which is suitable enough for me at the moment, usage-wise. But they clearly want to try and tie me into another long-term contract, which I have no intention of doing with them.
So I'm just gonna keep using this tariff which only has a 30 day notice period until something better comes up on another network.
Avoid 3 like plague! It is easy to get into their contracts, then enjoy bad service and even worse customer service for 18 months but when it comes to coming out of their contracts, they will use any excuse to keep you in legally or illegally. I would not go near 3 even if they provide me with free service. I am still receiving bills and debt collectors letters after 8 months of clarifying to them that there is NO contract between them and I. Their debt-collectors, C.A.R.S, asked me to pay back a balance of £10 by paying £25 a month! I just bin these letters now streight away. How can such people be allowed to exist as businesses in any civilised society?0 -
I've been a three fan for 5 years. Never had a problem with reception anywhere in the UK, and their customer service has been great.
However it's !!!! now and I couldn't recommend it to anyone. I'm yet to make a call which doesn't drop out every few minutes from full to zero reception. Bye bye three.0 -
Just switched from O2 to 3. The number transfer was a day later than they said it would be however the switch itself went without any problems.
No signal issues at home and work so far, haven't tried making any calls yet but have used the internet a few times. Seems neither faster nor slower than O2.
This switch will save me £5 a month overall and time will tell if it was a good move.0 -
I rang them to see what they would offer me, I got a Samsung Tocco Ultra, £15 a month 300 mix & match and unlimited internet access on an 18 month contract.
I get better coverage at home from 3 than Voda or Orange and have never had a problem with them. I'm sure that I could have pushed for more but I was quite happy with a new phone has been dropped once to offen with the free internet access.0 -
I travel extensively across Scotland and Three web access has been pretty patchy in some rural areas. (I have a work blackberry on Vodafone as well as my three handset, so I can be pretty confident saying that three used to be pretty shocking in Scotland's smaller towns and villages, at least compared to Vodafone.)
But, credit to them, the network upgrades are making a real difference - eg my download speeds are now better in Forres (where I used to get no signal at all) than they are in Edinburgh.
Roll on the Edinburgh network upgrade!0 -
I am with 3 network and I auctually find them really reliable... They have good signal stregnth in my area and I have no faults with them. Best network I have been with so far auctually.0

Handset: C510
Most commonly used location: Sheffield, Nr. Leeds
Ease and reliability and connection: It absolutely fine in Sheffield with consistent full signal. It is not so in at the other location with a very weak to no signal. The build quality of the C510 is awful and is practically in bits.
Any other problems: Annoying cold calling.
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 80 -
I have a blackberry bold on orange and I never loose reception anywhere0

^ I thought this was about the Three network?
Just to add that I have full signal now everywhere I have been in the last three months.0 -
I have been with 3 for 5 years or so and have not had many problems. I had decided to leave and go with the o2 sim card deal through Quidco. However when I rang on Friday to get a pac code and they offered me an IPhone with this deal.
700 Mix and Match minutes
Unlimited Internet
24 month contract
£27.00 per month
£99.00 for phone
It arrived today and I was still wavering so called 3 and they improved the offer to
700 Mix and Match minutes
Unlimited internet
18 month Contract
£27.00 per month
Free phone.
Now I know it does not have free texts but I probably only use about 50 -70 per month. Is this a good deal?0
