drbob - thats a much better deal than the one they offered me for £17pm with MnM300 + internet + E71, so I'm glad I cancelled the upgrade. Phew! Almost tied myself to another 18months ;) I'm going to hang around and see what new phones are out this month. I hear the Omnia HD is coming out on Orange. hmm...

I was offered the £17pm deal too before they issued the PAC code. The better deal I mention above was from an unsolicited call a couple of days after they had sent me the PAC code.

When I rang back to ask about the £8pm deal again, I discovered that the regular customer options team isn't able to offer that deal (or the £10pm deal), they looked in their records and had the same guy who made the original unsolicited call phone me back 15 minutes later.

I think it may be an outbound call only team offering the deal so three can target what they consider "high value" customers (or perhaps just a last ditch attempt to stop people who already have a PAC from switching).

I've accepted it because I can't really loose at that price, the phone is worth more than any potential early termination fees.

Was your £8pm inclusive of internet or just for the MnM500? Its still a very good deal nonetheless. :money:

No internet, just standard Mix and Match 500. Essentially all they are doing is applying a £10 per month loyalty discount and not charging extra for the high end phone.

I would give them a ring. I have an E71 with non-3 firmware and I can't install 3's MSN software.

"Skype for 3" works fine on an standard (i.e unbranded) E71. You just need to go to the skype page on Planet3 and download it.

For the correct settings just call customer services on 333 and choose the option for technical support. Tell them you've messed up the connection settings on your phone and they'll send them to you again via sms. Planet 3 is just a mobile web page so once you have the correct access point settings go to "mobile.3.co.uk" in the phone web browser to access it.

For the 3 version of MSN you need a 3 branded phone as the app won't install without a 3 certificate that isn't present in the unbranded firmware. You could instead use the Nokia version of windows live but I think you would be charged extra for data used by that program whilst data used by the 3 version is included in mix and match price plans.

3 might be cheap, but if you try and cancel your contract they'll give you lots of problems - especially if you try and take your number with you!
