I've had a nightmare with 3 and would say to anyone ... avoid like the plague. Their service is aweful. I had a phone that wouldn't work... they refused to replace it. I sent it away and they sent back no fault found. But it was still not working properly. Everyone I spoke to seemed reluctant or unable to help or put me in touch with anyone who could help. When I eventually came to cancel, they kept saying we can send you a new phone and pretty much refused to let me cancel. I was adament I wanted to cancel and left it at that. Now I'm getting letters saying I owe them money because I didn't cancel.... Arrrrrrrghh!!!!!!!!

Don't do it. Worst customer service I've every experienced. Now back with O2 and they're fantastic.

I have been on 3 for around 3/4 years, i went to Turkey in May 08 and was there for 2 months.....my direct debit stopped coming out my bank and i didnt know as i was not using the account.

I cam back to find i have an outstadng amount of £347....i called to pay this and told my account was cut off and i could get it put back on, and i had lost my number.

The number i have had for 10 + years!!!!

Is there anyway of getting this back, i have refused to clear the account balance unless my number is reinstated on an account or pay as you go sim card for me to take elsewhere.

call OFCOM get a reference & call executive office, numbers sre put in a "pool" for 6 months then returned to Original Network that issued, monkeys in India wont know this - Exec can call technical and get it pulled out of pool onto payg then PAC out
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)

The 'video minutes' is (in my opinion) their way of clawing back the cost of the phone. If you were planning to cancel this service during the 18 months, you should have checked that this was possible before taking out the contract.
I'm paying for 20 video minutes per month which I've never used, but it got me the phone I wanted.
Three are the worst network I've ever been with, though.

Kevin the CEO @ 3 came from 3AU, as networks in the UK cannnot issue credit/agreements for handset purchase ( AU telecoms discount handsets & sell them on a handset agreement payment system over contract term - not give them away ) Kevin seen the way do legally do this was add Video Packs
( if only one customer went to OFCOM to investigate this is a credit agreement of sorts ) as the cost of handset payment ;) minimum benefit maximum revenue, for a company that has spent more on 3UK than selling Orange in the 1st place - 3G a BAD Hutchison Telecom investment

Mix N Match like T-Mobile Flext plans are based on 3AU whom brought " CAP " plans to AU market

3AU, 3UK & 3IRE all are serviced directly by 3 Global ( customer ) Services in India....guess what 3 divisions of 3 worldwide are yet to make a profit ? guess what 3 divisions of 3 Worldwide are billions of £'s in debt ?

Voda AU & 3AU are trying to merge.....wonder why ? both have 3G licences so can you see that going ahead ?

  • My case of 3 refusing to accept i cancelled my contract on Dec 12th drags on despite many ignored ( by them) letters and numerous phone calls wasting my time trying to explain to the saga to an Indian call centre.

I have received a letter saying it will be passed to a debt recovery agency if i do not pay, i have replied by recorded delivery but had no reply.

On saturday i received a phone call from India telling me what a wonderful customer i am and offering me a special upgrade offer
    WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH……..
    Blimey what was that ?

Oh I wasn’t quite ready can I have another go ?
Sorry mate only one per person.
  • Please help, you experts out there. I need a new phone and network but who to choose, have been on orange payg but poor reception. I top up by no more than £10 a month (usually less). I want to get mobile broadband, as now have a netbook for when I travel but it doesn't have bluetooth. What's my best option? Have been researching for some time now and confused by it all, looked at 3 then worried about expense if you go over your limit please guide me. Thanks
  • I would never have considered 3 untll I gave someone a lift home and was impressed that the call did not drop when driving through a rural area (always used to with t-mobile)

I have tried Orange, O2 and T-mobile. The occasional times I have needed to speak to 3 customer services my quey has been dealt with and the fact that it was an indian call center was not an issue.

They have the cheapest data add on at £5 a month.

Looking forward to renewing my 18 month contrat with them in July.

    :j
  • definitely, definitely not the best. I have had many dealings with the customer services and it is not a happy experience. I've found they are incredibly, incredibly rude and unhelpful towards me and ask really obnoxious questions. One even had the cheek to say he couldn't understand my dad's accent!

My contract with 3 was up last December, rang up to cancel in January and got blagged into taking the £9 offer with a free G502 along with a promise of the first 3 months free - worked out at 7 and a half quid a month over the 18. Got my first bill today and sure enough - have been charged £9. Rang up and had flat denial that 3 months were free, got put through to another department who again, flatly denied that I was ever offered this. Was told they'd 'investigate' and would be back in contact in 48 hours - not sure what my next step should be (not holding out much hope of a phonecall)

I know it is only a matter of a few pounds but I'm absolutely fuming that I've been lied to and in this being accused of lying myself.

My partner has a contract phone with 3, all seemed well until a few months ago when the phone developed a fault and wouldnt hold its charge. OH returned it to the store who said they would have to send it away to be repaired, guess what.....on getting the phone back the fault was still there! this has happened twice and he has been without a phone now for weeks but of course 3 are still taking his money for their non-service.

I'm worried sick about him not having a phone as he has epilepsy and needs to have a means of contacting me or his parents at any time, without a mobile he is stuck if he has to go out.

Is there anyway to make 3 listen and give my OH the service he is paying for? getting out of the contract wont be easy as it's an 18 month one and doesnt end until next Summer, I'm inclined to write to Ofcom and Watchdog etc... as well as padlock myself to the counter in our local 3 store until they finally back down. !!!!!!!s!

  • Liz if you bought the phone in a 3 store then take along your retail receipt and ask if they have a loan phone you could borrow while your OH's is being fixed. They used to have some old LG flips that could be borrowed when contract handsets wher being mended.
