But there's a good Orange signal, probably 2nd best here, though haven't tried O2.0

Anyone else been able to get the LG Renoir off them with a good deal yet?
My contract expires start of June, had a Ericsson k800i, with
500 anytime/network crossover minutes/texts
Internet add on
300 3to3 minutes
for £23 a month
Called them up last week requesting what they could do for me, and asked in particular regarding the LG Renoir being a decent looking handset.
He said I don't really use too many minutes but the best he could offer me was
LG Renoir
200 anytime/network minutes
Unlimited texts
Internet
for £25 a month. That's essentially their texter plan but with Internet which is a rip off!
Reckon I can maybe get it down to less than £20? Been with them for 18 months, like.0 -

I've been with 3 for nearly 5 years now and have a "£14 loyalty discount" so I pay £21/month for what was a £35/month about 2 years ago.
Their handset offering is hit and miss, but you can usually get something adequate. My dad has a Nokia E71, which is to be avoided apparently; in fact I've noticed that it's only their unreliable handsets that get featured in "value" deals, so beware of that perhaps?
The signal is also hit and miss, most of the time it's fine, but I do think that my calls are dropped more often than by other networks, and occasionally my phone stubbornly refuses to find any signal at all (so much for automatic roaming to Orange).
The customer service is absolutely appalling. The automated menus are slow and pointless and the call quality to India is awful making understanding the operators even more difficult.alextwilson wrote: »Anyone else been able to get the LG Renoir off them with a good deal yet?
I called them up about a month ago when my contract was a few weeks from expiring and had a typical customer service experience. I asked for a Renoir and a few more minutes. He offered me exactly that for £45 (I thought he'd said £35, which I repeated back to confirm when he must have misheard me, and it wasn't until much later in the call that I established I'd misheard him). He said that I couldn't keep my loyalty discount if I "upgraded" to that phone. Doesn't seem to make any sense!
I gave up but intend to try again soon. I'm determined to get a new phone (hopefully a Renoir) out of them (I've had a Nokia E65 for ages now, it has served me well but is showing its age). I also want my packaged upgraded to reflect what new customers paying £35/month would receive, and keep my loyalty discount. Am I asking too much?0 -

That is strange as the E71 is widely considered to be one of the best handsets Nokia has produced, you will be hard pressed to find a bad review of it. Maybe his is faulty?0 -
I rang them up in Nov last year been with 3 for 4 years and was offered
500 anytime/network crossover minutes/texts
300 3to3 minutes
Free ebay/Skype and MSN
£18 (a bit less about £17.86 with the new VAT)
I have a k660i sony Ericsson FREE this suits me i can get the net but i am on it all the time at home so no need for the net.
I hate there India call centers but very rarely have to call them.Jan Wins: .0 -

I agree! I've got an E71 taken out with 3 and it's been the best handset so far for me. Although my first E71 did have a fault with it when taken out of the box - wouldn't switch on.
P.S. I wouldn't recommend 3 (signals not stable), regretting the fact that I switched over from T-Mobile. :wall:0 -

I wouldn't recommend T-Mobile (couldn't get a signal at home) that's why I went to 3.
Funny how folks differ:D0 -
3 are a nightmare you can only speak to their call centre in India. Their demanding money off me after I closed the account 3 years ago.0
