Is it wrong that I read that and thought, 'Oh please, I'd love that to happen' :D

Me too!!! That would test his organisational "skills" to the extreme!!

frannyann, horace and floss2 - so glad you agree!!! It'd be worth every penny to travel to the venue to see it! Imagine all his golfing buddies reviews then!!! I'm hoping Beks and OH get their reward very soon and he gets what he deserves!! Can't wait!!!!!

I dont honestly think that the golfing buddy reviews are real, I think they have been made by him or his sidekick.

I have booked a place to stay in Gran Canaria next month and only now have looked on Trip Advisor:eek: thankfully most reviews are excellent but one review made me think but then I saw that she had written about her fab time but she didnt like the single room, nor the german tourists and said that she wouldnt go there again. Thankfully, I don't mind a single room as I will only be sleeping in it as opposed to partying in it....sorry I digress.

I cant wait for Beks and OH to get their reward and for the wiley weasel to get his just desserts.
  • It's a shame I don't know any travellers init I could do everything else apart from travellers lol. I would pay so much money for this to happen. Does anyone know any travellers in the area?

LOL!!! That is such a great suggestion. I had thought of Hells Angels (OH is a biker) but not the gypsy community!!! If we didnt get our money back, maybe I could sell the date to some travellers!! Now there's a thought!!! Just need to find some willing travellers ....

I have just had a VERY interesting offer ..... someone 'in the know' - a business man has offered to get in touch with Max Clifford on our behalf to persuade him to take on our story. He reckons it will be a money maker and pay enough for us to get our money back (and give any additional to charity). He also reckons we don't need to wait to get our money back before we do it and could do it straight away as getting our money back is in the bailiffs hands now. I am not a Max Clifford fan but it is very tempting!!! Would need to discuss with OH but wondered what you all thought? Good idea or bad right now??!!

ETA: Horace I think you will always get some bad reviews on trip advisor, I really wouldn't worry about it, especially when as you say you read into the review and what they are saying is really a personal thing for them and not likely to affect everyone else. With this venue the problem is the actual description of the bad reviews. It comes from people who have had a really bad time there and treated with disrespect by the staff (management).

Good thought re Max Clifford (I'm with you in not being a fan but he is bl**dy good at what he does!!) but personally I would wait until you've got the money back, then people can't say you "only won because of ..." - it's retaining the moral high ground, but also you are then doing it to let everyone else know the venue / owner is carp, not for your own benefit ;)

Max Clifford is a man at the top of his game, if he is prepared to act for you I would snatch his hand off. He is brilliant at getting the kind of publicity that would not only ruin the venue but make sure you get the wedding you deserve.
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

Thanks ladies. I respect your opinions. I was thinking along the lines of floss but am also wondering how long this can go on and feel we could really use some help with this but dont want to do anything that would be classed as 'wrong'!!! IYSWIM.
OH definitely not into the sensationalise stuff though so might take some convincing. He turned down an offer by the very same Max Clifford after his accident (it was all due to a MOD fook up). I will have to wait for him to get back (his race starts tomorrow so is out of comms right now). Story was in the mirror today about the sailing but OH asked them not to publish his name or any info about him (another story lol and nothing to do with benefits as he doesnt get any) so looks like he isnt even on the boat!!! Makes me feel I am on my own for nothing!! Anyway, rambling again but I hope I can try and convince him. I might have a word with this chap and ask him to put the feelers out but warn him that OH might not go for it even it comes to something.
Thanks for your imput peeps, wanted to check I wasnt just getting desparate for something to happen!!

Horace, you're probably right about made up reviews. If he does actually read the reviews on trip advisor I suppose he's got to try and make it sound like a good venue for something, if not weddings!

The company my daughter and her partner work for had travellers set up on their car park last year for a few weeks. They were awful, not that I'm saying they're all awful but these were - they used to go into the store and walk out with all sorts of stuff and they left the car park in a terrible state! Oh the thought of them at 'the venue'!!!!

Beks, Max Clifford!!! Imagine Mr Nasty getting a call from him! Its certainly something to think about and, as SueSmith said, its certainly worth a meeting or at least finding out a bit more. Definitely to be discussed with OH!!
