:rotfl::rotfl:That made me laugh, he does have that kind of smarmy face you want to punch, well I definitely want to now anyway.
Thanks all (Franny, Shell, Steph, Horace, Jooles, Loonytoons, Eve, Anderson8, Laura, Kelda and Littlemadam):T. Support is much appreciated, thank you.
Managing to keep pretty positive and been doing quite a bit of research on 'things'. Time will tell! Got a lot of tricks up my sleeve for after this nightmare is over! I think they are going to be very booked up for valentines day!
Eve - not emailed the address you supplied yet - am concerned about doing anything until we have the money back. I did wonder if maybe I should now though just to give them the heads up.
As for the reviews, I have not seen one good wedding review. In their defence - OH went to one about 8 years ago (he went to the evening reception) and remembers it as being quite good (however, that was before the son took over from his father).
Yes some of the reviews of the restaurant are good to ok but it is never busy in there. Always very quiet so I know the one attached to the wedding venue is not thriving. Apparently, local people say it is one of the most unfriendly places to eat so avoid it. It is the wedding business which makes the money so am not sure why they seem to make such a shoddy job of them. I know we are not a one off and I know we wont be the last, hence, we will be publicising.
On a negative but also positive note, we found out today that our dd has to go for more surgery on her arm and will be in back in POP again - in July (the month our wedding was booked for) - so maybe this has all happened for a reason. The world works in mysterious ways!!!0 -
I've been lurking on this thread for a while now and just wanted to say that your determination and sheer strength is an inspiration to other brides to be who may be in a similar situation. I think you're an amazing woman and really hope everything works out for you. After everything you've been through you truely deserve a wedding day to remember for the right reasons x
PS. I think they should be extremely booked up for Valentines Day ;-)0 -
wow, just read through, what a nightmare for you! good on you for fighting them, hope you get money back, plus some extra for the inconvienience!

He has a face that I want to slap and a neck that I would love to wring:rotfl:
I was bored the other evening so spent time on tripadvisor reading all the comments and on reading one about the restaurant..it made me smile not because of the bad experience but the image that popped into my head of a Victoria Wood sketch of Julie Walters as an aged crone working as a waitress in a restaurant..being extremely slow and very incompetent, where she slopped the soup out of the plates when coming from the kitchen to the restaurant etc. I had to laugh because otherwise I would cry. The man has no business brain otherwise he would see that he has run the business into the ground and his staff are no better - they take their lead from him and therefore are as incompetent and as crooked.0 -
Oh dear. Those brides aren't going to feel so grateful the morning after their wedding.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Thanks Kymbo and Colliefrog!
Steph :rotfl:, think I am getting your wicked streak!Stopped now though, need to do more serious work to get money back!
Horace :rotfl::rotfl:!! I think I know the review you mean and the Julie Waters sketch is a great comparison. You are right about the staff following his lead, they have been absolutely miserable from my own experience. A friend of a friend went there for an afternoon drink, after 15 minutes of waiting for sour faced staff to turn round and acknowledge them, they walked straight back out again.
More waiting for us .......0 -
