    Hi Beks,

Just to let you know that your interest is 8% per annum not per day that is statutory interest. So not quite as much as £200 yet but it will add about £1.11 per day since the date on your judgement.

Ooops!!! :o Yes you are quite right!! We were advised to add the interest by the court (but didnt as it pushed us into the next payment bracket). They calculated it for us and it was about £80 (from date of 7 days after asking him for a refund the third time of writing to him IYSWIM).
    Thanks Sarah. x :)

Wish I'd seen the sad story sooner. Think I'm in the same boat. Waiting to see if I've had my fingers badly burned or whether the animal is going to show his trustworthy rather than his stubborn nature!

I hope it is not the same place. Fingers crossed for you, not all stories end like this. :)
  • This is terrible, I've read all of the thread. Just posting to say I hope you get it all sorted... I had a legal battle with my ex-landlord to get back a lot money he had stolen from me as well so I know its frustrating, why is this world so full of untrustworthy people?

Beks - the change of registered address on the companies house website isnt a problem, he has probably changed his accountant and has the registered office as the accountant's address.

I hope you get your money back soon from the twonk.

Yes, that is true! We could have claimed 8% per day through the courts though, I suppose that wou;d be about £200 now!

Franny - I hope you are right! You never know! :)
Steph - lol at you!! Thanks though, it made me laugh! :D

ETA: Cannot decide whether to purchase the companies house info on the venue. Costs £29 but would give me all their credit info, CCJs etc. Just don't know if it is worth it? Also, seems that he has changed addresses of the company in January 2010. Am I being ultra suspicious? :o

PM me the details and I can check at Companies House for you, more like £2-3 pounds rather than the £29 quoted. Accounts would also be good to tell what his financial position is (can you tell I'm an accountant :rotfl:)

Beks, just checked for you the address change is to do with the accountants as Horace said. I checked companies house and then checked out the address and it is the accountants. They are legit!!

Thanks all - it is reassuring to know that the address change is just the accountants! I think I am being unreasonably suspicious about it now!
Got all our court papers through today and OMG, they are so complicated. There seems to be a lot of things to do now. Got 2 forms to fill in "Request for Warrant of Execution" and "Application for order that debtor attend court for questioning". It looks to be a long process whatever we do. On first reading, it looks like we have to hand deliver the orders (ourselves or get someone we know to do it), OH says he will do it but I could not go in and face him now. Am a little worried OH will lose it though and do something he shouldn't!! The other problem is that because we have now gone over the £5000 mark, it looks like we might have to go to the High Courts for the bailiffs, yet more money and more complications!!! OH off to court tomorrow to get some advice, if not we will be back to CAB or solicitors again. God the stress!! I seriously never knew the small claims process was this hard!!!

ETA: sorry my post is a little garbled but hope it can be deciphered!!

I hope I am not annoying anyone by posting yet again ....

BUT, just burst into tears after reading yet another review on trip advisor. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

    It cannot go on!

And now I have some info from companies house, it may not go on for much longer. I hope we get our money in time. :(

Off for a bath now to try and calm myself down and get my sensible head back on! :)
