You know, a lot of people tend to search for reviews.

So they'd put in Google something like...

Blazing Donkey Review... or Review Blazing Donkey... or Blazing Donkey Kent Review.

So really if you're looking for a review of the Blazing Donkey...

yes that's right, the Blazing Donkey Inn in Ham, Kent...

then you should look here :D

Do they vet them first before publishing or something?

  • AbbaFan - Yes, TripAdvisor do vet them first but I think only to avoid spam and potential slander. As you can see, negative ones are most certainly approved and do appear!

Beks - Perhaps it's just the bank holiday and weekend slowing things down, but you could post your review here and maybe we can work out why it might have been rejected or at least delayed. One of my reviews took a week or so to appear once - I think because I had included lots of links to photos on my own website, so they had to vet them all first to make sure they weren't linking to something rather unsavoury!

Maybe they are getting a lot of new negative reviews and are trying to check them out. A few do seem to have appeared quite recently

At last!! :) I think they may have been checking it out (it is a bit long and not really sure it says what I want it to say now - it is more of a story than a warning). Oh well, it gets the message across in a round-about-way!!! :p

As for the other truely horrifying reviews, I can say, hand on my heart, they are nothing to do with me ... I really hope that people have not not submitted false reviews on my behalf. For one, I dont think they would need to as the place really does speak for itself. The owner of The Blazing Donkey does not seem care who he upsets so long as he gets his money. His personal skills are appalling and he cannot acknowledge when there is a problem and refuses to correct his mistakes.

I know we are not the first, people are still going through the horror of what we went through and we will not be the last but at the moment, my hands are tied but I will try to make stop the owner of the blazing donkey putting anyone else through 9 months of hell like he has for us. We were lucky, we got out but others will endure much worse. :(

    Glad to hear it's sorted.

Looking at their website, the place looks fab. Just shows how misleading a couple of pictures and a bit of text can be.

Hope the OH feels better soon and hope you have a fabulous day you both deserve!!

Beks - your review is absolutely perfect, because you stuck to the facts. You don't sound like an emotional bride - you've just laid out exactly what happened. Anyone can tell from that what a nightmare it was. You resisted the urge to lay into the place and the guy personally; nice one.
