I see from Companies House that he's changed his accountant and registered office in the last few weeks.

Late filing fees start at £150 and go up to £1,500 and are doubled if previous year accounts were filed late :p

See there's 2 more reviews on trip advisor too.

Haha this reminded me of this joke:

Frank and Morag had decided to take the holiday of a lifetime to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. They were on a flight over the Pacific bound for Australia when a severe storm broke out. Three hundred passengers, sat gripped with fear, as the plane bucketed one way and then the other in fearsome turbulence. Suddenly, over the public system, the captain says, “Ladies and Gentlemen, we have been blown off course and our engines are failing. I see an uncharted island and we should be able to land on the beach. However, I should warn you that it is remote and our radio is out, so the odds are we will never be found.”

Thanks to the skill of the flight crew, they landed safely. An hour later Frank says to Morag, “Morag, did we ever pay that last instalment on our car?”

    “No darling,” she answered.

Frank then asked, “Morag, did you ever send off that tax return?”

“Oh no, I forgot” said Morag.

“And one last thing,” Frank said, “did you remember to renew the TV licence?”

“Damn it…No, I was going to do it when we got back.”

Frank grabbed her and gave her the biggest kiss in forty years. Morag pulled away and gasped, “What’s that for?”

“One things for sure,” Frank said, “they’ll find us!”

I have just been on the Sun (newspaper website) and the Blazing Donkey is advertised on there. Now many pages scrolling round with other hotels (a booking weblink) Perhaps you should send them your story

Have you been looking at the reviews on trip advisor? It's targeted advertising, if I look at a website I get adverts on my home page for days about them. Keep getting Blazing Donkey and other hotels in the area when checking emails.

Hi Beks, I just want to say well done on following this up and getting your money back. We got married in The Dog Inn a few years ago and were appalled at the treatment we received. It is really good to hear about people sticking up for themselves and not letting him get away with it. Well done. You will be so happy you didn't get married in one of these venues.. you will find somewhere much nicer and more deserving of your money. :)
  • sorry to wake this up again but i am fuming!

got the local paper last week and saw a whole article on them having a wedding fayre and how they are amazing blah blah blah and that they are offering one couple the chance to win a £5,000 wedding!

    the bloody cheek!

Beks, I think you need to think hard about some publicity to make other couples aware of what can go wrong with this place. I know your OH isn't keen, but would he want to see others go through what you both did?

Well I spoke to Beks last week and she was telling me that the DB was trying to take them to court. If you look on trip advisor there has been alot mysteriously good reviews put on and some of the bad reviews taken down.

    Sad isn't it :(
