Wow. Just read all 54 pages but once I started I couldn't stop.

On the good reviews, it looks rather like they've been written by the same person - the style of writing is similar (they've tried to make it different in places but that's self-consciously done and screams same author), they use the names of staff (a lot of them have mentioned the name of wedding planner and at least one mentions the chef by his first name - who knows that??!!), the adjectives are similar and they're clustered. Not the same dates, but not very far apart.

    Hi all

I was surprised to see this page resurrected!!!

Fly dragon fly, I have heard the same thing. I think the reason they are doing it is because they are struggling. I know of two people who are currently in the process of taking the venue to court.

This has been playing on my mind a lot recently, seeing all the good reviews go on trip advisor (and I do believe they are either fake reviews or reviews written by his friends) has really got to me.

What got me more was that my review was removed from trip advisor without them telling me or asking me for information on the facts.

Every single post has also been removed from the site qype, all the reviews were bad and mine was one of the last to be posted.

I can also confirm that the owner of the blazing donkey has threatened court proceedings against the owner of a wedding forum- it comes up high when you search for the blazing donkey on google!!! I posted on there (the same post as on trip advisor)after our whole experience - the forum director contacted me and I have given him the details of all the court papers and he wants to keep the post up. He also tried to persuade me publicise (and said he could help) but I just cannot convince OH who just who wants me to remove all posts associated with the blazing donkey and wants to move on.

I cannot move on and am stuck in a rut, I feel they have ruined my wedding and my life but I cannot retaliate. I wish I did not feel so bitter but because OH wont go public, I cant get closure.

Well I spoke to Beks last week and she was telling me that the DB was trying to take them to court. If you look on trip advisor there has been alot mysteriously good reviews put on and some of the bad reviews taken down.

    Sad isn't it :(

They're trying to take HER to court? For what? Telling the truth? That's discusting.

I've just checked Trip Advisor and seen the reviews. Funny that a load of them were put on on the same day *rolls eyes*

I know your OH doesn't want to go public but why don't you? If anyone gives you money for your story or something tell your OH you'll donate the money to the charity he chooses. You REALLY need to get this story known. Ask him how he would feel if one of his friends went there, not knowing the reviews or having talked to either of you two and booked their wedding then found out what was going on. Others NEED to know so that this doesn't happen to them. :)

I have tried and tried and tried but due to the length of the thread (I think thats why), it wont let me do it. :(

eta: on the first page of this thread, it is in the little box at the top but cannot get it as the main thread title. I did make another thread on here about the story so that comes up in a google search but somewhere down the bottom.

Not me, but the forum owners.
I know they have threatened a wedding forum (only know because they contacted me for evidence) and I can guess they threatened trip advisor too which is why my post was removed. The same goes for a number of other sites who didnt have the decency to check with me.

In terms of the publicity, I have tried every angle. My parents have tried and my friends have tried. OH is more stubborn than me.
Giving the money to charity is a good idea (though dont think we would get paid), but I might just try one last time. :(

You'd be suprised. ;) When papers hear that "one of the boys" had this done to him on such a special day.

I'd try The Sun newspaper. They LOVE this kind of thing.

It's still the wedding season really so hopefully someone will see the reviews and think twice before they book it. It's sad really to see people being threatened with court action when it's nothing but the truth. I guess the truth hurts them. Obviously the reviews that have been put on there have done some sort of damage to his business and thats why he's took out a full page spread and attempted to put some lousy lying reviews on which we can all see through.

But no matter what we're still all here for you when you need us
